Freedom Caregivers opened its doors in 2013, responding to a critical need for local in-home care services for the elderly population. Its founders, Jason Eibling and Joanne Yeater, with decades of healthcare experience between them, strived to create an organization offering the quality of care they would expect, and that their own senior relatives would embrace. With that vision as their goal, Freedom Caregivers began with one caregiver and two clients. Fast forward to today, and our agency has grown to include four office locations, 100 caregivers, and more than 200 clients. Even with this expansion, we remain individually focused on providing excellent personal care to elders in their homes. Freedom now offers a wide range of customizable services aimed at helping the Greatest Generation remain safe in their homes and active in the lives they worked so hard to build. What sets us apart from other agencies is our commitment to relationship-building and our unwavering service standards. We carefully match clients and caregivers; we’re available 24/7 to answer any questions. Our frontline staff members are carefully screened; they are individuals we would welcome into our own homes. They’re compassionate, professional, and continuously receive training to stay ahead of advancing in-home care trends. We’re Freedom Caregivers for so many reasons. In our experience, in-home care is the first – and best – choice for many older adults whose wishes are to remain in their homes with freedom, dignity, and independence. Our mission is to honor God by serving others. We believe the people who have always cared for us now deserve to be cared for by us. It’s our turn to serve them.

There is no place like home for the holidays. 🏠❤️

For many of us, this is the time of year we travel back to see Mom, Dad, Grandma, or Grandpa. While phone calls are great, seeing our loved ones in person can sometimes reveal things we might have missed from a distance.

If you are visiting aging loved ones this season, take a moment to look beyond the decorations. Are you noticing changes that give you pause?

Here are a few signs that it might be time for a little extra support:
👉Is the house as tidy as usual, or is clutter piling up?
👉Is the fridge empty, or full of expired food?
👉Do they seem unsteady on their feet or hold onto furniture to walk?
👉Are they forgetting to take medications or missing appointments?
👉Is personal hygiene (grooming, bathing) slipping?

❄️ Baby, it’s cold outside! Let’s keep our seniors safe. ❄️

Did you know that seniors lose body heat faster than younger adults? As we settle into the winter season, it’s vital to remember that the cold affects older adults differently.

Here are 3 things to watch out for this winter:

1️⃣ Hypothermia Risks: It doesn't have to be freezing for a senior's body temperature to drop. Keep the thermostat set to at least 68°F.
2️⃣ The "Silent" Dehydration: We often forget to drink water when it's cold! Dry winter air can lead to dehydration quickly.
3️⃣ Icy Steps: Falls remain a top risk. Make sure driveways are salted and handrails are sturdy before heading out.

We had an incredible time this past Friday representing Freedom Caregivers at the Veterans Resource event at OhioMeansJobs Stark & Tuscarawas Counties! 🌟

First, a massive thank you to Rena and her entire team for organizing such a wonderful and necessary event. You all did a fantastic job bringing everyone together!

It was wonderful to meet so many new community partners and see the strong network of support here. Most importantly, we loved the opportunity to have real, meaningful conversations with our local Veterans and their loved ones. 🤝

We are thrilled to be in Canton and look forward to serving this community! 💙

We met incredible students, had meaningful conversations, and loved representing opportunities in healthcare & human services. 🤍🩺

For those who weren't able to attend, we left brochures and business cards with the skill mannequins in the labs so everyone could find more information about our careers!

We are thrilled to celebrate Laura, our exceptional Caregiver of the Month for Upper Sandusky! 🌟

Laura consistently goes above and beyond for her clients, who absolutely adore her compassionate and dedicated service.

An experienced caregiver with a background as an expired STNA, Laura brings years of valuable expertise to the Freedom Caregivers team. When she's not brightening the lives of her clients, she loves spending quality time with her family, especially cheering on her grandkids at their sporting events. She and her husband also enjoy exploring new adventures together, and Laura finds relaxation in her weekly church attendance and avid reading.

We were so honored to attend the Veterans Resource Event at Kingston Residence of Marion last week! 💙

Freedom Caregivers was truly glad to be there to support the wonderful veterans in our community. We had so many meaningful conversations and connected with valuable community partners working hard for our veterans. The event was a huge success, filled with resources and a great spirit of unity!

A massive shout-out and thank you to Bob Goyer for his incredible work and dedication in organizing such a fantastic, well-attended event. You did an excellent job, Bob!

And we can't forget the amazing food! Thank you to Presidential Post Acute in Marion for providing such delicious treats (we may or may not have indulged in seconds...and thirds 😅)
