Our Fabulous Fireside Friday was even more fabulous thanks to Jayden Palmer, a magician and entertainer, who came as a last-minute fill-in when our scheduled entertainment called in sick! We laughed, we were amazed, and we can’t wait to invite Jayden back!!

Our Friday was full! We kicked off our community meeting with a presentation by Polk County Emergency Management on severe weather preparedness (very timely as we were under a tornado watch today!), had a great conversation in out meeting, enjoyed a relaxing and fun rock painting craft in the afternoon and ended the day with one of our Challenge the Chef recipes! Here’s to a wonderful weekend!

The coffee shop at The Arbordale is so much more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee—though our residents definitely enjoy that part too!

It’s where mornings begin with friendly faces and weekly continental breakfasts (can't you just smell the warm toast and hear the din of conversation?). It’s where neighbors gather around tables for card games, laughter, and a little friendly competition. It’s where residents come to learn something new at our tech sessions, catch up on the news, or simply relax with a good conversation.

More than anything, it’s a space that brings people together—a true hub of connection, community, and everyday moments that make The Arbordale feel like home!

At The Arbordale, it’s the people who make our community feel like home—and today, we’re shining a spotlight on someone truly special: Sonya, our incredible Housekeeping Lead.

Sonya has been with us longer than anyone else on our team, and her dedication shows in everything she does. From the moment you walk through our doors, you can feel the care and pride she puts into keeping our community beautiful.

But what really makes Sonya stand out is her positive personality. She brings warmth, kindness, and a genuine smile to each day, lifting up residents and team members alike. She’s not just part of the team—she’s the heart of it.

We are so grateful for all that she does to make The Arbordale such a welcoming and wonderful place to call home.

We had a wonderful time digging into the world of container gardening yesterday! With beautiful, hands-on examples from Iowa Outdoor Products and an engaging presentation by Shelby from Iowa Family Gardens (and a delicious array of appetizers provided by our own Chef Arif) we discovered that you don’t need a big backyard to enjoy the beauty and rewards of gardening—just a little creativity, a bit of knowledge, and the right container. Turns out, apartment living and green thumbs go perfectly together!

We look forward to welcoming local attorney Chad Eichorn this morning at 11:00 AM. Chad will be discussing Wills, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Medicaid Asset Protection Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Special Needs Trust, and Veteran Asset Protection Trusts.

This informative session is a great opportunity for The Arbordale residents to gain peace of mind and practical guidance on protecting their assets and planning confidently for the future.

Birthdays and St.Patricks Day 🍀 back to back! We had a four day scavenger hunt, pistachio cake and in true Irish fashion a baked potato bar. It really was a very fun day! 💚 We also can’t forget the lotto ticket prizes ☺️Thank you to all those that participated. We had a packed house! 🇮🇪🍀💚🌈💰🌟💛🍀🌈💚

Our Chef, Arif, loves a challenge so we are starting our Challenge the Chef series! Beginning Monday, March 9, residents are invited to drop their recipe (or simply suggest a favorite meal) into the Golden Recipe Box in our Coffee Shop.

Each month, our office team will randomly draw two submissions, and Chef will add those selections to our weekly menu for everyone to enjoy. We are excited to see what new meals appear on our menus!
