🙌🏼This scar correction was too good not to post…

Patient had cosmetic concerns with this deep scar that she has had for a very long time. We had previously discussed adding filler to the area to reduce the appearance and she finally agreed to let me work some magic! 🪄

💉👩🏻‍⚕️This patient came in today for his 6 month maintenance injections of PRFM. He has seen significant improvement in his hair loss with this treatment.

PRFM refers to platelet-rich fibrin matrix and is a treatment that can be used for hair loss. The procedure begins with your blood being drawn. The blood will then be centrifuged and concentrated to separate the platelet rich plasma from the other blood cells. The PRFM that is collected is then used in small injections throughout the problematic areas of the scalp to trigger your body to regenerate hair growth.

It is important to have a consultation with a dermatologist prior to having this cosmetic procedure performed to rule out any underlying medical condition that could be causing your hair loss.

How much sunscreen should you be applying?

☀️2mg of sunscreen for every square inch of the body- which is approximately 2 tbs - or the equivalent of one shot glass for the face and body, a nickel-sized dollop for the face alone

☀️If using spray sunscreen, spray until you see an even sheen on the skin

☀️Use SPF 30 or higher and make sure it is UVA & UVB/Broad spectrum

☀️Reapply every 2 hours or more frequently if sweating or swimming

☀️and YES, you should still wear sunscreen on a cloudy day!

𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸.

· Wear sunscreen to protect yourself from harmful UV rays. Reapply sunscreen throughout the day, too.

· Other types of sun protection include wearing a broad-brimmed hat, long sleeves, and pants. And don’t forget the back of your neck.

· Find shade. Trees, umbrellas, and awnings provide excellent sun protection on warm sunny days.

· Don’t let the clouds fool you. UV rays still reach the Earth and your skin on a cloudy day!

· Avoid tanning beds. The UV light in tanning beds puts you at risk for melanoma, too.

· Regularly check your skin for abnormal moles. If you notice changes, see your dermatologist to have it checked.
