On and throughout , we recognize the critical role research plays in deepening our understanding of autism.

At MMRI, Dr. Kontaridis’ Lab is uncovering the genetic drivers of autism. Her team has identified a link between congenital heart disease and autism and is working toward earlier interventions and targeted therapies. Ongoing studies also explore how genetic, environmental, and socioeconomic factors contribute to autism.
