We will remember and honor Alice Wong, a trailblazing disability rights activist and author, for her wit, tenacity, and visionary leadership. She was a driving force in the disability justice movement, advocating for a world where marginalized communities could live freely and make their voices heard. Her legacy will continue to inspire and leave a lasting impact on the disability community.

The MacArthur "Genius" Award-winner was best known as the founder of the Disability Visibility Project, which highlights disabled people and disability culture through storytelling projects, social media and other channels.

The Autism Awareness Visor Card Program has been launched by the New York State Police to support clearer, safer interactions between individuals with autism and law enforcement.

👮‍♂️ Each State Police patrol vehicle will now carry a visor card featuring helpful visuals designed to bridge communication gaps.

Because Congress has not yet reached an agreement on funding, the federal government is currently shut down. As a result, on November 1, federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will run out.
