Yesterday we had the honor of celebrating local veterans with a special luncheon in the MCC Horticultural Center — a warm, gratitude-filled gathering surrounded by the beauty of the season.
Thank you to all who joined us and to those who helped make the event so meaningful. 🇺🇸🌿

💙 World Kindness Day 💙

In honor of November 13th, World Kindness Day, MCC is proud to feature two incredible volunteers who have been named our 2025 Volunteers of the Year — Gerald and Heidemarie Pietsch!

We join our residents and families in celebrating Gerald and Heidemarie, who remind us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. Volunteering with MCC since 2016, their journey began when Gerald’s mother was a resident. After her passing, their commitment never wavered — they’ve continued to share their time, energy, and compassion with our residents in countless ways. From greenhouse trips, bingo, happy hours, and fishing outings to shopping trips and special events, Gerry and Heidemarie are always there to lend a helping hand. Gerry is also famous for running the popcorn machine at our carnivals, Halloween parties, and Super Bowl celebrations — spreading joy wherever he goes.

We’re so grateful for their years of service, kindness, and dedication. Congratulations, Gerry and Heidemarie, and thank you for making MCC such a warm and wonderful place to call home — and for treating our residents like family. 💙

Yesterday, on Veterans Day, MCC proudly reflected on the bravery and dedication of the men and women who have served our country with honor.

Today, we’re excited to share a few more photos from our Veterans Day event at MCC — a special time to celebrate and thank those who’ve given so much in service to our nation. We extended special recognition to members of our MCC family:

🎃👻 What a magical Halloween at the Masonic Care Community!
Our residents and the children from our Child Care Center had an absolute blast together, dressing up, sharing treats, and creating joyful memories across generations.

At its heart, this isn’t just a fun holiday event — it’s a meaningful intergenerational experience. Research shows that connecting children and older adults can boost mood, reduce loneliness, and foster respect and empathy across ages.

Thank you to our dedicated staff for making this day possible — your efforts help ensure our residents feel vibrant, included, and connected. And the smiles on the children’s faces? Absolutely priceless.
