πŸ‘ Congratulations to Phil Cox, PA, in the MVHS Orthopedic Group – our latest BEE Award recipient!

Phil went above and beyond for a patient, not only providing attentive, compassionate care, but also stepping in to help when they were stranded with a dead car battery. He stayed with them, made calls to find help and ensured they were safe.

As his nominator shared, β€œI can't express my gratitude for him going above and beyond to ensure my children and my safety. Chivalry is still alive!”

Thank you, Phil, for truly being extraordinary every day. πŸ’›

πŸ’œ DAISY Award Honoree – Callie Wright, RN πŸ’œ

We recently had the honor of recognizing Callie Wright, RN, from Maternal Child Services with a DAISY Award – a moment that was both deeply emotional and incredibly meaningful.

Callie was nominated by a family she cared for during one of the most difficult experiences imaginable. Her compassion, presence and unwavering support left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.

πŸ’¬ From the nomination:

β€œDuring the most devastating moment of our lives, the loss of our son, Callie became our anchor in the storm. In a time filled with unimaginable pain, she showed us what true nursing care means.

She sat with me when words were hard to find, holding space for my grief with compassion and patience. Her presence alone brought comfort. She didn’t just care for us clinically – she cared for us as human beings who were deeply hurting.

She honored our son, honored our family and supported us in ways that will stay with us forever. In our darkest hours, she showed empathy, strength and a depth of kindness far beyond her role.

When everything felt unbearable, Callie gave us comfort, dignity and a sense of safety.

It is hard to find words for what she did for our family. I hope she knows it can never be fully described, measured or repaid. Callie is everything a nurse should be and so much more. We are eternally grateful our paths crossed – even under these circumstances. We will never forget her.”

Callie, thank you for the extraordinary compassion and care you provide to patients and families every day. You embody what it means to be a nurse.
