🦃🍂 HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
We celebrated our ‘Friendsgiving’ last week, and Victoria outdid herself with the food and all the fixin’s!
We hope your thanksgiving with loved ones today was full of warmth and laughter.
We are very thankful for each of our wonderful residents and staff that keep the house going so well.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Happy Veterans Day to our very own Mr. Wilkins and Mr. Southward! 🇺🇸

Mr. Wilkins served in the Army Reserves for 6 years from 1963-1969, and Mr. Southward was in the Navy for 4 years from 1953-1957, and then the Airforce for 18 years after that! The military in him is still strong as you can see from the sharp corners of his bed - still making sure he passes inspection! While most of our residents
are happy to have staff tidy up their beds each morning, it is something Mr. Southward takes pride in doing himself. (He explains this with quite a bit more character- and for that you’ll have to ask him about it yourself!)

Happy Veterans Day and thank you for your service!

The Domino table in heaven got a lot more fun this last Thursday, when our beloved and very dear Evelyn Hutchison departed this earth.

Evelyn resided at 214 Martin Street for nearly 10 years, and is well missed by her friends here who are proud to say that they also became family.

She had some *very* exciting plans for her 100th birthday only a short month away - and while we can’t disclose all of them on Facebook - just know that on December 2nd we will all be together in her honor with big smiles on our face as we remember her then, as well as always.

She was a force to be reckoned with, a joy to be around, a self proclaimed domino shark, and surely always kept you on your toes with her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor!

We mourn not for her, but for us, as she will be truly missed.
We love you, Evelyn! Thank you for making our lives better by having been a part of it.

You can find her obituary here:

We will join tomorrow for her graveside service and look forward to honoring her memory and hearing the sure to be entertaining life stories from her other friends and family.
