They are the reason I am a doula and the way I learned how to trust my own body and its amazing ability to grow and birth a baby. I became passionate about pregnancy and birthing during my first pregnancy with my daughter. In my quest for knowledge, I read many books, took Bradley classes and hired a doula. Despite my plan for a natural birth, I ended up with a C-section because my daughter was breech. My doula still proved to be indispensable by helping me deal with the emotional roller coaster and kept my husband and I calm. When I became pregnant again with my son, I knew I wanted a VBAC. I went on to have a successful unmedicated Hypnobabies VBAC thanks to the support of my husband and doula. At that point, I knew becoming a Doula was my calling in life.
