Playful Food Exploration Group ⭐️

Food doesn’t start with eating, it starts with play. In this workshop led by occupational therapy, children explored food using a variety of feeding utensils and cutters to support curiosity, confidence, and positive mealtime interactions around food. This hands-on experience allows a child to explore new foods without the pressure to eat.

This month pumpkins have been our perfect tool during our social language group program. 🍂

💪🏼 We’ve rolled and pushed the pumpkins and raced them across the room (building gross motor and coordination)
🎨 We painted the pumpkins as a group (parallel play, sharing tools and completing a project by working together!)
🎃 We carved the pumpkins for sensory exploration and tolerance all while building on our language skills — “Eww”… “Oooh”… ”Wow” 👀

Our Social Language Group is always in full swing and our little ones are all smiles as they enjoy the sensory swing during group time.💙✨

Why are sensory swings so beneficial?
⭐️ Helps children feel calm and self-regulated
⭐️ Builds core strength and coordination through movement
⭐️ Improves balance and helps them understand where their bodies are in the space
⭐️ Encourages sharing, peer interaction and social engagement

We love seeing our littles ones having a blast while building important skills!

Our Social Language Group is open to Regional Center consumers, and it’s a wonderful way for children to grow, connect, and have fun while learning.🌈🙌🏼

Our Social Language Group got hands-on with baking soda, vinegar, and watercolors and the results were both sensory and spectacular! 🌈✨

With just a tray of baking soda, cups of dyed vinegar, and a water dipper, our little ones practiced fine motor skills, focus, and creativity while watching the magical fizzing reaction unfold. 🧪🧑🏻‍🎨

Tip: Encourage your child to fill in the white spaces and watch their faces light up as the colors come alive! 🤩
