What a day of smiles and connection!
Our dedicated Board Member Paul Sohigian welcomed visitors to Blythedale recently, for a tour and a fun volunteer activity with our preschoolers. Together, they enjoyed therapeutic playtime, spreading laughter and love. The group joined us following a fundraising dinner Paul hosted at Craft, in Pleasantville, with Chef Phil McGrath all in support of our Hospital’s mission.
Thank you to everyone who continues to make a difference in the lives of our kids!

Victoria, a patient at our Early Childhood Center, was all smiles on her way back to class with her occupational therapist, Jean Marie. Her stroll with the shopping cart turned into a fit of giggles — sound up for a feel-good Friday moment!

We’re proud of our incredible interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists and doctors, and their commitment to advancing patient care!

Last month, at the Conference in Orlando, our team proposed a new standardized positioning strategy, designed to be easily implemented by staff to further enhance the comfort and outcomes of our youngest patients in our Infant & Toddler and Post Neonatal/Post-Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

It's another example of bringing innovation, compassion and excellence to everything we do!

Ximena is a patient on our Pediatric and Adolescent Unit who was recently discharged. James Morris, our Coordinator of Transportation, and part of our discharge planning team, has been brightening patients' days with stickers since 2000. Our supergirl Ximena, then "shook it off" as she left Blythedale and headed home.

The 6th Annual GLOW at Blythedale Children's Hospital was a smashing success!
Presented by our incredible Therapeutic and Developmental Support Services team, GLOW lit up the Hospital with creativity and lots of Halloween spirit!
Our talented staff showed off their pumpkin-carving skills, creating a glowing gallery of Jack-O’Lanterns for employees, patients, and families to enjoy and vote for their favorite one!

Healing Begins With Warmth and Connection!
At Blythedale, comfort and compassion go hand in hand. Our new initiative, "Blanket Bridge," is a beautiful way to wrap our patients and families in warmth, care, and community.
The blankets are lovingly crafted by members of the wider community and our dedicated Nursing Assistants help each patient and family choose a handmade blanket to brighten their sleep space.
"Blanket Bridge," led by our Spiritual Care Practitioner and Patient Ambassador, serves as a tangible reminder that our patients are held in care.

On November 7th, Blythedale Children's Hospital Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is proud to present: Role of Dynamic Surfaces for Promoting Fun & Functional Shifts in Children with Neuromuscular Challenges with Jane Styer-Acevedo, PT, DPT, C/NDT.

This intermediate level course will enhance critical thinking skills for Speech and Language Pathologists and Occupational and Physical Therapists and their assistants who treat children with a variety of neuromuscular challenges.

Participants will critically assess children through observation and analysis of instructor demonstrations to problem solve the causative impairments interfering with achievement of identified functional goals. Utilizing the International Classification of Function (ICF), task analysis, and group discussion, you will have the opportunity to design an efficient and effective treatment session towards functional goal that leads to participation in the child’s
daily routine.

Service in Action!
We were thrilled to welcome a team of volunteers from Regeneron to Blythedale Children’s Hospital for a special Employee Service Day, organized in partnership with Volunteer New York.
The day was filled with smiles, stories, and creativity as Regeneron employees joined students at the Hospital's on-site Mount Pleasant Blythedale School to read books, color, and spend meaningful time together.
