Warm hearts, warm feet🧦— the United Faith Community Church sock drive was a huge success! Thank you to everyone that participated in collecting 500+ pairs of socks for a great cause!
🎉 Winter Sock Drive = EPIC SUCCESS 🧦🤣❄️
Ladies and gentlemen, toe-tally incredible humans, and anyone currently wearing unmatched socks… we did it. The Valley Police Department, together with United Faith Community Church , has officially completed our Winter Sock Drive and collected over 500 pairs of socks!
That’s right—FIVE. HUNDRED. PAIRS.
Enough socks to:
🧦 Warm the entire population of a small village
🧦 Build a moderately cozy sock fort
🧦 Or create the world’s most intimidating laundry pile
Massive shout-out to Officer Ken Dohrmann, who organized the drive and bravely waded through the Great Sock Mountain of 2025. Not all heroes wear capes—sometimes they just hold a clipboard and pray no one donates used gym socks.
To everyone who donated: you absolutely crushed it. You kept this drive from going “toe up,” and thanks to you, countless toes will live their best, warmest lives this winter.
Special thanks to Valley Lakes Assisted Living for being a donation point and gathered the majority of the socks. True community teamwork.
And last, but certainly not least, thank you to Pastor Scott Jones, our Water Clerk Kindra Smith, Deputy City Clerk Johnathan Barnhart, Building and Zone director Drew Nelson, and our Office Manager Mike Gorman who were all guilited into posing for this picture by Officer Dohrmann. Couldn’t ask for a better group of human beings.
Thanks for showing heart, humor, and unmatched generosity—unlike those socks that somehow always go missing in the dryer.

Today at Valley Lakes Assisted Living, we proudly honored the veterans who call our community home. We are grateful for our 9 resident veterans and 3 team members who have also served.
We held a special Presentation of the Colors with the help of the Bennington American Legion Post 266, Valley American Legion Post #58 and the Valley, Nebraska Police Department. Their presence brought meaning and gratitude to a day dedicated to service and sacrifice.
Thank you to all who have served. Your courage continues to guide us. 🇺🇸
