Did you know that having access to nutritious food can positively impact your overall health?

Foundations of East Chicago, in support of our Food as Medicine program, awarded HealthLinc funds to provide 325 medically tailored food boxes to 65 patients in East Chicago over the next five months.

Each box is designed to support patients managing chronic conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure. Additionally, HealthLinc will be hosting three cooking classes to help patients learn practical, affordable ways to prepare healthy meals at home.

Thank you, Foundations of East Chicago, for your investment in our patients, our mission and our community. 🍎💙

Your health is at risk.

Proposed changes by the Indiana FSSA to the 340B program will take critical funding away from community health providers and redirect it to the federal government. For HealthLinc and other safety-net providers, that means fewer resources to deliver essential services and higher costs for the patients who depend on us.

This directly impacts those who already struggle to afford care, including working families, children and seniors.

NOW is the time to act.

🚨 URGENT: Access to care for Indiana residents is at risk.
A proposed change to Indiana’s Medicaid program could eliminate critical 340B savings starting July 1, 2026.

For HealthLinc and other community health centers, these savings fund essential services.

Without 340B, patients could face:
➡️ Fewer services
➡️ Higher costs
➡️ Fewer care options

This impacts real people. Working families, seniors and children who already struggle to afford care.
💡 And it costs taxpayers nothing.
🗣️ Your voice matters. Public comments are open through March 27.

Colorectal cancer doesn’t always wait.

An employee who was screened at age 50, the recommended age at the time, was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer. She turned her story into a mission, advocating for research and funding to fight the disease.

Now, screening starts at 45.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to take charge of your health. If you’re 45 or older, make the appointment. Encourage a friend. Start the conversation. Honor those who fought, like Kelly.

If you or someone you know could benefit from testing, please contact HealthLinc’s Cancer Screening Specialist, Millie Guevera, at 888-580-1060 Ext. 5708 or email mguevera@healthlincchc.org.

Because early detection can change everything.
