Celebrating 50 Years: A History of Porter-Starke Services

Did you know: In 1983, the Porter-Starke Services Foundation, originally named the Carillon Foundation for Health, was created to secure donations and other private support to strengthen and maintain our services. Today, the Foundation hosts annual events, including the upcoming Valparaiso Turkey Trot, that support the health and wellness of our clients and our community.

Thank you to the USA Prime Midwest Select 13U and 14U teams for coordinating this winter gear drive! We appreciate your support and your help in serving people in our community!

The USA Prime Midwest Select 13U and 14U Teams are running a community winter gear drive to help Porter Starke Services.

All proceeds will be donated to them to be distributed as needed. Please spread the word and please stop by to donate, it is very much needed and appreciated.

Did you know…The Community Mental Health Act, signed in 1963, supported treatment closer to home. Locally, volunteers organized efforts and developed partnerships that would lay the foundation for Porter-Starke Services.

Reformers questioned institutional practices and called for more compassionate, community-based approaches. This decade laid important groundwork for the modern mental health system we know today and provided the foundation for the creation of Porter-Starke Services.
