Congratulations Marizkyleasis (Marissa) Dotson, CNA, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.
Marissa has been working in VCRC Memory Care for almost 3 years. Marissa was born in the Philippines and came to the U.S in 2016. She is married, has a son and two stepsons.
Marissa’s inspiration to help others began when her cousins became nurses and doctors, and as she witnessed the devotion of her parents while taking care of her grandparents. Marissa is family-oriented and possesses strong cultural values which have influenced her decision to serve the elderly. She practices three key components in her day-to-day work: compassion, love, and patience. Marissa is well known among her colleagues and residents’ families as hard-working, team-oriented, friendly, reliable, and kindhearted.
Marissa considers herself an introvert and a homebody. She loves animals, reading, watching action movies, and finds cooking therapeutic and relaxing. Her advice to others is, “The only way to do great work is love what you do!” Her favorite quote is “Work hard in silence, let your success be your noise.”
Marissa, we thank you for the exceptional care, commitment, and dedication you bring to our community and to the lives of those you serve. One resident’s spouse says of Marissa, “Your presence brings comfort and reassurance, making a significant difference.”
