🌟 Meet the Team – Meadowbrook Care Center 🌟

Next in our Meet the Team series is Leah Travis, our Business Office Manager at Meadowbrook Care Center. Leah joined the Meadowbrook family in October 2025 and has quickly become a valued part of the team. She truly enjoys coming to work each day and spending time with the residents who make Meadowbrook such a special place.

In December 2025, Leah graduated with her Associate’s degree and is currently continuing her education by pursuing her Bachelor’s in Business through Western Governors University (WGU). She is passionate about learning, growing, and serving others, and is always happy to help residents and families with any questions they may have.

Outside of work, Leah is the proud mom of two amazing boys who keep her busy and motivated. Her faith is an important part of her life, and one of her favorite verses that inspires her each day is:

"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

🌟 Meet the Team – Meadowbrook Care Center 🌟

Next in our Meet the Team series is Jennifer Bailey, RN, BSN, Director of Nursing at Meadowbrook Care Center. Jennifer brings decades of dedication and experience to her role and is honored to care for residents while helping families navigate the transition into long-term care.

Jennifer began her healthcare career at just 18 years old as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she quickly discovered her passion for nursing. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 2001, later returning to school to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007.

Her nursing career has included a variety of experiences, but in 2016 she returned to her first love—long-term care, serving as a Unit Manager and later as an Assistant Director of Nursing. In 2021, Jennifer and her family relocated from Florida to Texas, where she continued her leadership journey as an ADON before joining Meadowbrook Care Center as Director of Nursing in October 2024.

Jennifer’s passion for resident care and her commitment to supporting families make her an invaluable leader for the Meadowbrook team. We are grateful to have her guiding our nursing staff and caring for our residents every day. 💚💙💚

Next in our Meet the Team series is Rosie Kanaday, LVN, NAC, a dedicated member of the team at Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne. Rosie has been part of the Meadowbrook family for 14 years, bringing experience, compassion, and commitment to her role every day.

In her position, Rosie is responsible for MDS assessments and care planning, while also stepping in to help wherever she is needed to support residents and staff. She truly enjoys working with the residents and values the strong sense of teamwork among her coworkers.

Rosie shares that the team at Meadowbrook is the heartbeat of the facility, and the people she works with feel just as much like family as her own. It is a true pleasure for her to be part of a community that cares so deeply for one another and for the residents they serve.

We are grateful for Rosie’s years of dedication and the heart she brings to Meadowbrook Care Center every day! 💚💙💚

🌟 Meet the Team – Meadowbrook Care Center 🌟

Next in our Meet the Team series is Lainie Blakeslee, our Physical Therapist Assistant and Director of Rehabilitation at Meadowbrook Care Center!

Lainie has proudly served the Meadowbrook community since 2022 and truly values the small, close-knit environment that makes MBCC feel like family. She is passionate about helping residents regain strength, independence, and confidence through rehabilitation.

Lainie shares that she feels incredibly blessed to work with the senior population. While the work can sometimes be challenging, the most rewarding part is watching patients progress from needing full assistance to regaining their independence and returning home to their loved ones. Being part of that journey is something she considers a true blessing.

Outside of work, Lainie has been married to her husband for 27 years, and together they have two amazing sons, ages 26 and 27. Their home sits on three peaceful acres, where they have enjoyed country living since 2018. Their family also includes five beloved fur babies — three dogs and two cats. In her free time, Lainie enjoys relaxing in their pool, reading a good book, and sipping on an iced coffee.

We’re grateful for the dedication and heart Lainie brings to Meadowbrook Care Center every day! 💚💙💚
