The week of Christmas can be the loudest week of the year--physically and emotionally. Consider this your permission slip to find the quiet. 🤫

Find 5 minutes somewhere in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Lock the bathroom door, sit in your car before going inside, or wake up 10 minutes early. Take a moment for yourself.

Protect your peace. The chaos can wait.

✨Unpopular Opinion: You don't need a New Year's Resolution; You need an Intention.✨

Resolutions are often rigid rules ("I will walk 2 miles each day," "I will never be anxious"). When we fall short of keeping these resolutions, we feel like failures.

Intentions are guiding values ("I will move my body to feel good," "I will be curious about my anxiety"). Intentions allow for mistakes. They allow you to be human.

What is one feeling you want to cultivate in 2026?

Resolve to be intentional.

As we approach the end of 2025, it's easy to look back and tally up what went "wrong." But resilience isn't built in the easy moments--it's forged in the tough ones.

Instead of listing your regrets for this past year, reflect. Ask yourself these questions:

1.) What did I survive that I didn't think I could?
2.) What did I learn about myself?
3.) What are some areas of improvement?

Reflection should be fuel for your future, not punishment for your past.

If the "most wonderful time of the year" feels a little heavy for you, you are not alone. 💙

Between the shorter days and the emotional weight of the holidays, it’s normal to feel a shift in your mood.

If you're feeling low this week, try these three small things:

1️⃣ Sunshine: Get outside for 10 minutes of daylight.
2️⃣ Movement: Even a short walk can reset your nervous system.
3️⃣ Connect: Send a text to one person who makes you feel safe.

Be gentle with yourself. You're doing the best you can. 🤍

🚫 Saying "No" is Self-Care 🚫

Protecting your energy isn't selfish. It's necessary.

Setting a boundary--whether it's leaving a party early or declining an invite--is an act of self-preservation.

This weekend, try saying "no" to one thing so you can say "yes" to your mental health.

Does your holiday to-do list feel longer than the day itself? Take a deep breath. It's so easy to get caught up in the rush of buying the perfect gift or hosting the perfect dinner.

Truth is, your loved ones won't remember if the napkins matched the tablecloth. They will remember how you made them feel.

This season, try prioritizing presence over presents. Put the phone down, look people in the eye, and just be there. That is what will be remembered.

💪 Resilience & Post-Traumatic Growth 💪

True mental strength involves being grateful not just for the good, but for the lessons learned during tough times. Acknowledging growth and resilience builds a stronger sense of self.

What challenge are you grateful to have overcome this year? Share a word or a phrase that describes the strength you gained from that experience.

🔃 Gratitude as Cognitive Restructuring 🔃

When negative thoughts invade the mind, gratitude can be used as a powerful cognitive shift. It doesn't deny the struggle, but rather provides a balanced perspective, reminding us of our strengths and resources.

Try it out! It's simple: turn the phrase, "I can't..." to "I can be grateful for..."

If you're struggling with persistent negative thought patterns, remember you don't have to navigate it alone. Our counselors are here to help you build coping skills.

Visit our website or call the office for more information on how you can start treatment.

🫂 Connection & Community 🫂

Sharing gratitude strengthens our social bonds. Expressing thankfulness to friends and loved ones improves relationship quality and increases their--and your--overall well-being.

Authentic appreciation fosters deeper connection.

Mental wellness often depends on appreciating the present moment.

Today, practice active gratitude by being grateful for a small, sensory thing--a warm blanket, the taste of coffee or herbal tea, the sunshine, the colors of the leaves. This is a powerful and grounding form of mindfulness.

What tiny, everyday comfort are you grateful for right now? Drop an emoji in the comments to represent it!
