Sexual Assault Awareness Month’s Day of Action is observed on the first Tuesday of April each year to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This initiative, led by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, seeks to prevent s*xual violence through education, community activism, and support for survivors. This year, efforts will focus on a powerful theme: BELIEVE IN CHILDREN.
Through our work, StrengthUnited supports families, prevents s*xual and domestic violence, and provides healing and support to survivors of abuse. Our goal is to transform a traumatic event in a person’s or family’s life into a source of strength.

Understanding your attachment style can change everything 💭

The way we love, trust, and respond in relationships often comes from deeper patterns, not flaws.

Awareness is the first step to growth.

No matter your style, healing is possible.

We stand with Dolores. We stand with every survivor who has carried pain in silence. We hear you, we believe you, and we honor your courage in speaking your truth.

“I am nearly 96 years old, and for the last 60 years have kept a secret because I believed that exposing the truth would hurt the farmworker movement I have spent my entire lite tighting for.
I have encouraged people to always use their voice. Following the New York Times’ multi-year investigation into s*xual misconduct by Cesar Chavez, I can no longer stay silent and must share my own experiences.
As a young mother in the 1960s, I experienced two separate s*xual encounters with Cesar. The first time I was manipulated and pressured into having s*x with him, and l didn’t feel I could say no because he was someone that l admired, my boss and the leader of the movement I had already devoted years of my life to. The second time I was forced, against my will, and in an environment where I felt trapped.
I had experienced abuse and s*xual violence before, and l convinced myself these were incidents that I had to endure alone and in secret. Both s*xual encounters with Cesar led to pregnancies. I chose to keep my pregnancies secret and, after the children were born, I arranged for them to be raised by other families that could give them stable lives.”

No one should ever have to carry this alone. We stand with survivors always.

On March 8, 2026, join women and girls around the world to demand equal rights and equitable justice so that we can claim, exercise, and enjoy them.
The slogan “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls” calls for action to dismantle all barriers to equitable justice: discriminatory laws, weak legal protections, and harmful social practices and norms that erode the rights of women and girls.
Through our work, StrengthUnited supports families, prevents s*xual and domestic violence, and provides healing and support to survivors of abuse. Our goal is to transform a traumatic event in a person’s or family’s life into a source of strength.
