David M. - his journey

David M. - his journey David’s a Brain Cancer Survivor of 8 yrs. He lost his dad Devon (USMC) in 2016 to Glioblastoma. Help support David and his family.

David was 2 years old, when he was diagnosed (3-14-14) with Acute Extra Ventricular Neurocytoma. He has since had 3 brain surgeries and is currently clear on his scans. His doctors wont deem him Cancer Free until 5 years of clear scans. Anyone who is new to his page, David's Dad, Devon, battled his own Brain Tumor for 2 years and was medically retired from the Marine Corps. Last year after his 2nd biopsy he fell into a coma as the tumor grew into his Brain Stem from his Thalamus and we had to pull life support. David's Dad passed Oct 25, 2016 and was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer after his passing. David is continuing to travel to Chicago every 4 months for his follow up appointments with his Neuro-Oncologist and Nuero-Surgeon. To send any gifts or donations, please send it to:

We are truly blessed to be a part of the wildcat family at WCMS. Mrs. Etheredge (David’s band teacher) nailed this along with Mrs. Stokes (counselor) and the rest of the faculty. He also rang the bell over the announcement with Mrs. Utley (nurse and cancer survivor herself - her and David are attached at the hip and she already has a nickname for him) before the bell to go home rang. He had so many kids in the hallway saying congrats. Thank you again for showing my boy some love 🫶🏻

Here’s the video: To celebrate David being 8 years cancer free, he asked to get his ears pierced. Of course momma said yessss, and I wouldn’t take him anywhere but to a tattoo/piercer shop to get it done the right way. Ian was amazing with David, even let him play on his Switch. 🥰 (we did this about two weeks ago)

To celebrate David being 8 years cancer free, he asked to get his ears pierced. Yesterday was bittersweet(Oct 10) Best birthday present I could ever recieve. David finally rang the cancer free bell. 8 years clear y’all! I cried of course. Tomorrow he will have a celebration with his classmates during band class. Special thankyou to Sandra and Miss Ary for attending yesterday meant a lot. 🥰🥳
