Heiwashinkai Jujutsu (HJI) has some openings in both kids' and adult classes, so I will be advertising a bit more frequently to raise awareness of our free programs.
HJI is a traditional Jujutsu school. Our emphasis is on real-world self-defense, not sport, although we do some sparring nearly every class.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, formed by disabled veterans and educators to give back to the community, and while the focus of our nonprofit is other disabled veterans, special needs kids and adults, and Law Enforcement officers, all classes are free (with donations gratefully accepted).
Traditional Jujutsu is the parent art of both Judo and Aikido, and contains similar throws, joint locks, strikes, sweeps, chokes, pressure point/pain compliance techniques, and weapons and weapon defenses, all taught against real-world attacks such as punches, tackles, grabs, and even multiple attackers at higher levels of training.
HJI has a gorgeous custom-built training facility at our disposal, with handicapped-accessible bathroom/showers, large changing rooms, commercial-quality gym equipment for strength training, a luxurious massage chair, over 1,100 sq ft of thick, safe mats, and an Oculus 3 that was provided by the community for the use of the students to help with balance issues or anxiety or just plain enjoyment.
Our head instructor has 24 years training experience and over 18 years teaching experience.
Our class schedule is as follows:
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Kids ages 5-12: 5:30-6:30pm
Adults 13+: 6:30-8:30pm
Sundays
Adults: 1-2pm Beginner/Fundamentals class (extra falling and rolling)
2-4pm normal adult Class
We also offer a Free Monthly Movie Night to the community, shown on our immersive 4k projector with a 15' screen and 7.1 theater-quality surround sound system. This month's movie will be Beetlejuice on Feb 24th.

Jujutsu is an amazing martial art which is suitable for all ages, to build self-confidence, improve fitness, teach self-defense skills, or just to turn your mind off the rigors of day-to-day and focus on training.
