Nothing ruins my day more than a terrible night's sleep. I have less patience, less energy, less motivation, and more stress.

One night is an annoyance, but multiple nights of no sleep becomes a real problem rather quickly. Here is what we suggest for sleep troubles (and since we're open 24/7, you can get the help you need when you need).

Light Therapy: It sounds counter-intuitive to have light when you're trying to sleep, but there is good research that green light therapy can help with sleep issues. Using the green light at the end of your day (before you go to sleep) helps your nervous system get ready for sleep. This is a super easy way to work on your sleep issues.

Chi Therapy: The chi movements plus the heat component can really get your cody ready for sleep. In fact, I have often fallen asleep on the chi machine 😴.

PEMF: Using our PEMF machines on a consistent basis get's your body into functioning rhythms so you can improve your sleep habits. It's painless and can be done in 20 min sessions.

I was at a holiday gathering last night and ran across a friend. She has been battling some long covid symptoms. She is not contagious anymore, but the virus is still wreaking havoc on her body.

When this happens we recommend using heat to combat the bug. We use infrared heat at RelaxPNW because it penetrates the superficial layers of the skin and can be useful deep into tissue.

We have 3 ways of using heat with us.

1) Chi Machine: Our chi machines have infrared domes that come down over your torso and legs. This is so helpful for people who have been feeling sluggish because you don't have to stand or sit like you do in a sauna.

2) We have zero-gravity chairs with infrared back pads. This is a really great position to get both physical pain relief and start to attack the virus.

3) Most of our massage chairs also offer heat settings. This is a great step if you're physically feeling well enough to have the massage.

If you are experiencing an acute illness, we want you to stay home and stay rested. But if you are suffering from long term symptoms, we know we can offer relief.

I'm really happy that in the sports world there has been a greater emphasis on recovery. When you improve your recovery, you make bigger gains towards your athletic goals. Recovery can mean literally recovery from injury, but it also includes muscle recovery after workouts and competitions. These are the machines that we like to use for our own recovery.

💪TENS units: A good TENS unit can do wonders for any injuries related to sporting. It speeds up the bodies ability to rest and repair. It tingles the skin, but does not hurt. We recommend 10 min with the TENS every other day while in recovery.

💪Chi Therapy: Our chi machines are really good for workout recovery. They are especially effective for the lower extremities and lower back. So after "leg day", this machine is awesome. Chi is not good for acute injuries.

💪Massage Chairs: Massage is a great way to relieve achy muscles and recover from sports related body stress. Plus it just feels good.

💪PEMF: This therapy is very good for both the injury side of recovery and the everyday workout side of recovery. It doesn't hurt and can also improve sleep (which improves recovery).

If you're anything like me, it doesn't take much to have a random body pain. I was peeling potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner (no lie) and I must have been standing weird because I turned to say something to my sister and I kinked my neck. 😂The whole day my right trap was in pain. (not funny, but kindof funny)

Luckily there are a lot of things you can do for those random body pains that are natural.

For pain, we at RelaxPNW recommend the following equipment:

*PEMF: Our pemf machines deliver a low dose of electromagnetic energy that has been shown to reduce aches and pains. We like to do it for 20 min, 3 times a week while the pain is acute.

*Massage chairs: If the pain is muscle related (like mine was), massage chairs can do wonders. The great part is that because we are open 24/7, if you happen to hurt yourself on Thanksgiving, you can still come in!

*Light Therapy: For pain we recommend red light therapy. This is very good for headaches like our previous post suggests, but red light can also help with deeper pain issues like the runner knee you see in this video.

Tis the season to be jolly.....but also for some holiday headaches. Whether you suffer from acute stress headaches or years of chronic migraines, these are 4 of our favorite pieces of equipment to help.

1) Massage chairs: massage chairs are so good at helping your body relax and unwind. This does wonders for tension headaches and stress induced headaches. Set the chair in zero gravity mode and step it up even more. Plus, a massage just feels good.

2)Acupressure Pillow: In our meditation lounges we have acupressure mats and pillows. They work very similar to acupuncture but without breaking the skin. This therapy can be intense so we recommend starting with only a few minutes and then building your way up. You will improve your headaches and migraines as well as get better sleep.

3)PEMF: This electromagnetic mat has many studies showing how effective it is for chronic headaches and migraines. We recommend using the mat for 20 min at a time and at least 3 days a week until symptoms are under control. Then a weekly session can really help you maintain.

4)Light Therapy: Both red and green light therapies have been used to combat headaches and migraines. We prefer the red light therapy for this, but if you are working on mood disorders like anxiety or depression as well, you can knock them both out with our green light.

Let's talk about anxiety and depression. These dark rainy days bring it to surface for me. There are so many things you can do to preemptively combat seasonal mental health disorders including these two. Here are some of my favorite things that we have at RelaxPNW.

Light Therapy: Many people have heard of and tried red light therapy. While this absolutely helps with anxiety and depression, we suggest green light therapy. There is more evidence that the green light offers a more potent punch. We offer a variety of light therapies including green in our meditation lounges.

Chi Therapy: Our chi therapy beds are great for combating anxiety and depression. The simply movement helps to detox the lymph system which helps with physical triggers.

PEMF: There are some great studies that suggest that regular sessions of PEMF help with ongoing issues with anxiety and depression. This is a really easy and relaxing way to get the help that you need.
