The Holistic Code of Ethics is a set of guidelines that I follow in my own practice as well as adhere to (to my best ability) in my personal relationships.
Working with these ethics can offer you a sense of clarity and integrity, as well as help you to maintain healthy relationships with your clients (and friends and family).
1. Permission - Always receive permission before coming into someone's physical, energetic and intellectual bubble. It's a practice of staying in your own lane unless invited, or at least asking permission first. This applies to physically touching someone, sharing insight, advice and opinions.
2. Privacy & Confidentiality - Honor people's right to privacy and what is shared with you in confidence as sacred.
3. Autonomy - When we honor someone's autonomy we are recognizing that they are perfectly capable of navigating their own journey and as support members in their life (whether family, friend or paid professional) it is important that we help reinforce this and instead of immediately coming to their aid, allowing them to make their own choices based on what feels best for them.
4. Sovereignty - Recognizing that all beings have a unique and powerful relationship with the divine. Honoring someone's spiritual sovereignty is to allow them to explore this for themselves. To create their own personal spiritual practice and have their own beliefs (even if they differ from yours).
