Our annual visit to The Grotto is a tradition we look forward to every year. Nestled in Portland, The Grotto—officially known as the National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother—was established in the 1920s and has long been a place of reflection, peace, and quiet beauty. With its gardens, towering trees, and softly glowing lights during the holiday season, it offers a calm and meaningful space to pause and simply be.
This visit is always a favorite for our residents, and it’s easy to see why. ❤️

Our residents had a magical evening driving through the Portland International Raceway Christmas Light Show ✨🎄
While these photos may just be twinkling lights, the joy behind them is big—and our residents asked that we share a little of that magic with you. Even better, proceeds from the light show benefit the Sunshine Division, a local nonprofit that has been providing food and emergency assistance to families and individuals in our community for over 100 years.

What a week full of holiday fun! 🎄✨ Our residents enjoyed origami with Holly, Christmas ornament crafts with Kathy, and even made candy cane soaps. We celebrated a special birthday with a trip to the mall where Dusty picked up the perfect Vikings Santa hat, and capped it off with beautiful music by Robby Mayer. So much joy and creativity all in one week!

What a magical night! 🎅✨ Thank you to all of our residents, friends, and family who joined us for our holiday party and made the evening so special. Seeing so many smiles with Santa was truly the best gift. A huge thank you to our incredible Evergreen team whose hard work, creativity, and heart brought this celebration to life. Last week, our residents enjoyed a truly special Resident Christmas Dinner, beautifully prepared by Chef Kaleo and our amazing kitchen team. 🍽️✨ The menu featured Pomme Pave, Harvest Salad, Prime Rib with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes, and Cherries Jubilee over vanilla ice cream for dessert. Served fine-dining style with two candle-lit seatings, it was an evening full of flavor, warmth, and holiday cheer!
