🎰 Bucket List: Checked!

This week, we finally made our long-awaited trip to Ilani Casino in Ridgefield—and it did not disappoint! After having it on our bucket list for the past few years, we made the (short!) journey and had an absolute blast.

From the exciting games to the lively atmosphere, it was a day full of fun, laughter, and a little bit of luck 🍀

Now that the seal is officially broken, we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

✨ Glam Photo Day – Part 1 ✨

Back in January we welcomed photographer Curtis to the Evergreen Inn for a very special Glam Photo Day! Our residents had an absolute blast dressing up in costume jewelry, fabulous hats, and colorful boas before stepping in front of the camera.

The smiles, laughter, and confidence in these photos say it all — everyone was ready to show off their style and flaunt what they’ve got! 📸💎

We received the final photos this week and couldn’t wait to start sharing them with you. Stay tuned… we have lots more glam to come!

Our Skincare 101 series is officially underway! 🧴✨

Each week, residents join Courtney for an hour of learning about how our skin changes as we age and how different skincare products work to keep it healthy and comfortable. Our first class was a true Skincare 101, where we talked about:

• How skin naturally becomes thinner and drier with age
• Why hydration and gentle cleansing are so important
• How ingredients like hyaluronic acid help draw moisture into the skin
• Why vitamin C can brighten skin and support collagen

Of course, learning is even better when you get to try things for yourself! Residents and staff helpers enjoyed relaxing with hydrating, brightening, and revitalizing face masks while we talked about the science behind them.

Next week we’ll be learning how to build a simple skincare routine — cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF included!

There’s nothing better than comfort food on a rainy Washington day! 🌧️🥔

During our latest Cooking with Care activity, residents rolled up their sleeves and got a little messy creating their own loaded baked potatoes. With toppings like cheese, sour cream, butter, bacon bits, and green onions, everyone got to customize their plate exactly how they like it.

Cooking together is always a favorite here at Evergreen Inn — it gives our residents a chance to use their hands, share stories, and enjoy something warm and delicious at the end. Safe to say this activity was a real hit!

Getting Crafty at Evergreen! 🌈✨

During our weekly Getting Crafty! activity, residents got creative making beautiful rainbow sand terrariums topped with a little gold glitter — the perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day earlier this month. 🍀

Each terrarium turned out unique, colorful, and full of personality. Activities like this are such a fun way for everyone to relax, express their creativity, and enjoy time together. There’s always something fun and creative happening around the Evergreen Inn!

Round two of smiles from our Deal or No Deal Night! 💼✨

The excitement kept going as residents and guests took their turn picking cases and testing their luck. It was such a joy watching everyone cheer each other on and celebrate the big wins together.

Our Family Traditions events always remind us how special this community is. Nights like this bring everyone together and create memories that last far beyond the game itself.

Next up… we’re already looking forward to our big camp trip coming up in June! 🌲🏕️

Big cheers and even bigger winnings at our Deal or No Deal Night! 💼💰

Residents and guests gathered together for an evening full of suspense, laughter, and tough choices — deal… or no deal?! Some brave players held out for the big cases and many walked away with heavy pockets of cash by the end of the night!

Family Traditions nights like these are always a highlight around here. There’s nothing better than seeing everyone gathered together, cheering each other on, and celebrating the wins.

So many smiles from Gratitude Café and Cooking with Care! 🍓

Food has a special way of bringing people together, and these moments in the kitchen are some of our favorites. Our residents love getting hands-on—mixing, creating, tasting, and sharing the experience with staff right by their side.

Activities like these are about so much more than just cooking. They give everyone the chance to connect, create something together, and enjoy the simple joy of working with their hands. The laughter, teamwork, and pride that come out of these moments are what make them so special.

As you can see from all these smiling faces, Evergreen Inn really is one big happy family.

Art, adventure, and a beautiful day out! 🎨

Our residents had a wonderful time exploring the Portland Art Museum during a recent group outing. We were especially excited to visit after the renovations—there’s now literally double the art compared to our visit last year! With four floors to explore, there was something fascinating around every corner.

The museum itself is absolutely stunning, and we were so impressed with how ADA-friendly and accessible the space is, making it easy for everyone to enjoy the experience. Even better, admission is free on the first Thursday of every month, which helps make art more accessible to the whole community.

We love living in an area with so many incredible activities just a short drive away, and this outing was a perfect reminder of how lucky we are to explore them together.
