CommuniKate Speech Therapy

CommuniKate Speech Therapy Now offering pediatric speech therapy services including speech and language treatment, evaluations, and parent training for language development.

I believe that therapy is most effective when the three key members– child, family, and therapist–work together. The goal of CommuniKate is for knowledge to be shared and for us to learn from each other. As a parent, you are the expert in your child, and as a speech language pathologist, I am an expert in my field of speech and language development. Let’s work together through a family centered approach to find ways to best support your child’s needs. I believe in using the current strengths of your child to help them expand and grow.

Children with autism don’t need to be changed to fit the world—
the world can learn to support them. 💙

In speech therapy, we focus on meeting each child where they are and helping them communicate in ways that feel natural and meaningful.

Support over “fixing.” Always. 🌈

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month 💙

Let’s raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease—a condition that can impact movement, speech, and communication. Early support, education, and understanding make a meaningful difference.

Together, we can amplify voices, support families, and spread awareness.

🌍 WOLRD DOWN SYNDROME DAY 🌎

Today 3.21 (signifying the third copy of the twenty-first chromosome) is World Down Syndrome day. And the cute little girl you see in the photos wouldn't be the Kate behind CommuniKate without her brother-- her why. Kate's older brother, who now affectionately goes by Uncle Bud, started it all. From sibling sessions to a strong passion for family engagement, Kate's upbringing with Bud at her side made her the SLP (and practice owner) she is today.

World Down Syndrome day is a day to celebrate the lives of those who have Down syndrome, bring awareness to the cause of Down syndrome (random genetics), advocate for disability rights, fight for inclusion, and challenge the societal stigma Down syndrome carriers.

We are how we treat the most vulnerable of our community. And you will always find Kate and the rest of the CommuniKate team serving and fighting for Uncle Bud, our patients, and their families.

Communication is more than spoken words.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) includes many ways people communicate besides talking, such as gestures, pictures, writing, and speech-generating devices. AAC can support people of all ages who have difficulty with speech or language.

Everyone deserves a way to communicate.
