We celebrated Veteran’s Day today with our neighbors over at The Park at University Village, and with some wonderful volunteers from The Patriot Guard Riders. They were so generous with their time and efforts to ensure that our Veterans felt honored and recognized.

There were more than a few poignant moments. One of which was when our entire community witnessed the presentation of the American Flag and we shared in the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance together as a community. We ended our visit with refreshments and some new friends.

Our Halloween Happy Hour & Bingo mash-up was a hit, with a costume contest, fun tricks, and plenty of treats to go around! 🍬 Wishing everyone a sweet and cozy weekend and week ahead🍁

We have a new ping-pong table from some wonderful new neighbors that moved in a few weeks ago and we’re all having so much fun with it! We’re also continuing to work on our balance in class everyday and still getting out and about to enjoy each other’s company!

We had such a lovely Sunday this week! We were honored to host a recital for the students at Vancouver Music Academy and their families! We heard some wonderful music from classical pieces to theme music from films, such as Harry Potter! It was a pleasure for Residents and staff alike! May your day be filled with music like ours was!

A couple of young Llamas, named Bertie and Mary Jane from Columbia River Camelids Association visited us yesterday and even our Senior Executive Director, Cyndi Pollard couldn’t resist meeting them!
Our guests, Jamie and Trent brought along an informative slide show about llamas and then let everyone enjoy some time with them.
Questions and stories continued as everyone visited with Bertie and Mary Jane. It was interesting hearing people’s past experiences with llamas.
(One of our Residents recalled he almost got in on owning llamas for their fiber/coats back in the 1970’s and another owned a few on their farm when they were young!)
What a great way to spend a Wednesday afternoon together! Thank you Jamie and Trent for your generosity and time!

Happy National
Assisted Living Week!!!
We have been up to lots of fun shenanigans all week, from funny hat day to a wheels wash (a free wash for walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, and cars for Residents and Employees). We also decorated up our scooters and walkers to show Community spirit, and even had a lively game of horseshoes- Residents vs. Staff! Our week ended with a raffle in which Residents and Staff were invited to enter, along with a special prize for showing the most spirit and support this week! We hope you have a day filled with as much joy as we’ve been finding in our days here!
It truly has been a week to cherish each other’s friendship and to take a moment to remember we’re blessed to spend time together.

We hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! We kicked it off with a big Community Block Party!!!

There was a petting zoo, The School of Rock, The Shriner’s and some lovely vendors from a local farmer’s market! We heard live music performed by Bad Motor Scooter and we danced in our closed-off streets! Kona Sno-cones, Antique cars, scrumptious food made by our talented kitchens, a fun spot to take a photo or two as well as carnival games and prizes!!! We even had a group sing-a-long with neighbors and family in The Pavilion while the band took a break!

A memorable day of sharing and connecting for our community! What an exhilarating way to begin a fresh new month!

Keeping our cool and having some fun this weekend! We took a trip to the casino and enjoyed a crafty project of hand-painting flower pots to save summer a little longer for ourselves as we head towards autumn. We hope you enjoy the lovely days ahead!

Happy August!
We’ve been having so much fun this summer! We celebrated the Dog Days of Summer with our favorite pups, we’ve been walking to our favorite corner coffee shop, coloring, going out to eat at The Olive Garden and just genuinely enjoying each other’s company!

A heartfelt thank you to our very own resident Margie for giving an absolutely fascinating presentation on coded quilts used during the Civil War and the Underground Railroad.

Margie shared a wealth of knowledge about how these quilts carried hidden messages that helped guide enslaved people to freedom. Her insights into the symbols, language, and system behind these quilts opened our eyes to an incredible part of history that many of us had never heard before.

She shared her talents and knowledge through the powerful journey and presentation. ❤️
