Let them know you've noticed a change and that you're there to listen without judgment. Sharing that you understand or have gone through your own challenges can help them feel less alone. Just showing up for someone else can be the first step toward healing.

In my years of practice I have felt that California was very ridged in their licensing practices. I just found out that they are allowing, 1x per calendar year, a 30 day temporary license to continue care with an existing client. This is good news! It was very easy to get. My client was very please to hear :)
