What can hands-on Fall Protection training do for you?
We recently teamed up with Tomkat Safety to host a Competent Person Fall Protection class in Yakima, Washington. We had a great session with attendees from local municipalities, construction, electrical and food & beverage industries.
For many, the best part of this training is the hands-on aspect. With the drop truck trailer provided by Tomkat, this is usually the first opportunity to feel what it's like to be suspended in a harness and learn how to utilize various rescue options, such as trauma straps.
Other training benefits include:
Skill and Knowledge: provide your crew with the skills and basic equipment knowledge required to operate safely, moving beyond theoretical understanding to practical application. Understand how to calculate fall clearance and reduce free-fall distances.
Proper Equipment Fitting and Inspections: PPE only works if it fits correctly. Hands-on sessions allow for on-site fitting. Workers can also practice inspecting their gear for wear, damage or signs of previous deployment.
Site-Specific Hazard Identification: Training can be tailored to the specific environment, teaching workers how to evaluate their unique workplace, identify dangers, and choose appropriate anchorage points.
