As the founder of Creative Works Ministries & owner of Creative Works Studio /Mentoring Solutions of Richmond Virginia. Crystal Williams helps the young and old heal from past/present traumas, discover purpose and find greatness within; so that they will be fully delivered and not feel forsaken and distressed. Minister Crystal Williams is an author, speaker and certified art therapist. She utilizes therapeutic arts, prayer, and natural resources to discern and meet the client needs; and have the ability to provide spiritual nutrition that empower them for success. But her life hasn’t always been this way or about these works…She has known deep loss in almost every area of my life…loss of job and wealth, loss of relationships and health. She has been at the top of her game and completely at the bottom of the pit and near death’s door. Yet, because of her overcoming testimony and the joy of regaining my life, she now know what matters most and is fully qualified to share her experiences, wisdom, empathy and solutions with everyone in her sphere of influence. As an emerging prophetic voice she provides therapeutic art, faith-based counseling and a variety of art services.

During one of our recent CreativeWorks Studio sessions, we invited participants to express family in a festive way for the holidays. One participant’s painting revealed something deeper and profoundly moving.

He placed himself alone in a body of water, no land, no visible connection. Through color and space, the canvas told a story of separation, distance, and longing for connection. What began as a holiday-themed exercise became a powerful moment of awareness and truth.

Art has a way of uncovering what words often cannot. It creates a safe space to explore past and present experiences, identify what may be hindering our relationships, and begin the journey toward healing.

During our recent Recovery Wellness Session, our theme was “The Giver and the Gift.” One of our participants created this beautiful canvas, and what unfolded was nothing short of extraordinary.

Through their art, the room was taught a profound truth:

This canvas reminded us that while giving often feels natural, receiving requires vulnerability, humility, and openness. When we allow ourselves to receive, we don’t take away; We actually create space for someone else to be blessed through their obedience to give.

This moment touched every heart in the room. The canvas became the teacher, and the lesson lingered long after the paint dried.

Nine years ago, Creative Works Studio was birthed out of a season of deep intercession, prayer, and personal grief. I was carrying the weight of a declining catering business and the pain of watching a dear friend struggle with their health. In those quiet moments, the Lord spoke clearly:

What began as a whisper from God has grown into a movement of emotional wellness, mental health support, and relational connection.
