We are replacing the flooring in the pharmacy!

The pharmacy will remain open throughout this project, however the pickup of prescriptions may take place at the front and/or back registers for periods of the project. Please read signage and allow our friendly staff to assist you with your prescription needs.

We will make every effort possible to keep over-the-counter products available, but please understand that many areas of our gift shop will not be accessible.

We have teams working around the clock to help us return our service back to normal as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time!

Word is, PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Manager) reform will get voted on this week as part of the end-of-year bill to fund the government through March of 2025. https://lnkd.in/gG-wKx_w

This piece of legislation has taken the pharmacy profession years to advance this far. CVS, Express Scripts and Optum are dumping massive resources to stop this legislation so they can continue to produce their massive profits.

Thousands of independent pharmacies were forced to close in recent years due to the financial harm these practices caused. Additionally, these same practices raise the costs of medications to patients and create healthcare deserts in many rural areas that are most vulnerable.

We rarely ask for the help of our friends, family and neighbors. Clinical rooms are open! We are excited to finally be able to expand our services. Appointments are available and can be made online at https://vashonpharmacy.com/

Our immediate care services include uncomplicated UTI, yeast infection, as well as burn, bite and sting treatment. These services enable patients to be assessed by one of our doctorate level pharmacists, and receive the appropriate prescription(s) all in the same visit. We are able to bill most commercial insurances.

We also are excited to provide chronic disease management services for diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and asthma. Rather than wait months to get an appointment, allow our pharmacists to assess and manage your medication regimens. We forward all details and results to your primary care provider following the appointment.

As we continue to expand our services we anticipate adding more services and expanding our care team. We look forward to elevating our services and caring for our valuable patients!

Interesting read showing the failures of Mail-Order pharmacy.

One employer was paying about $100 for a prescription for a generic antidepressant, though it could be bought elsewhere for about $12.

We are aware that some patients are receiving calls from scammers claiming to be the pharmacy. We have contacted our vendors and they have assured us these calls ARE NOT originating from the pharmacy servers. Know that staff at Vashon Pharmacy will NEVER ask for a social security number or other financial information over the phone. If you have any concerns please reach out so we can collect as much detail about this as possible.

Other Notes:

Flu Vaccine has arrived and is in stock. The CDC (as well as us here) recommended getting your vaccination by the end October. Historically influenza arrives to the northwest a bit behind most other areas of the country so September 15th to October 15th is primetime.

Updated Covid Vaccine Boosters are on the way, likely will arrive sometime in September with mid-late September being the most likely. We are not taking appointments for Covid boosters at this time.

Lastly, we do have limited amounts of RSV vaccine in stock for those who qualify. Our next shipment will arrive on Tuesday of next week. Please contact the pharmacy for more details or you may sign up online using the link below:

Our regular dose Flu Vaccine arrived this morning. We now have Flu Vaccine available for all ages! Appointments have been made available immediately. Patients can make appointments on the following link:

All of our flu vaccine is egg and preservative free! Nearly all are covered at no cost to the patient through insurance!
