Happy Chinese New Year!!! It’s the year of the Metal Rat. Metal symbolizes stability and longevity. Celebrate today as a year for renewal, rebirth and new opportunities. The Rat restarts the 12 year cycle in the Chinese Zodiac. Chinese mythology states there was a great race which determined the order of the animals in the Chines Zodiac. The Tiger and the Rat were best friends, they devised a plan to ride on top of the Ox across the river. They know the large and hardy Ox could cross rivers and would likely finish first. Upon crossing the river the Tiger fell off the Ox and the Rat continued on. The Ox struggled toward the finish line and in the last second the Rat lept from the Ox and crossed the finish line first. The Ox crosses second and the Tiger third. This is why to this day this day the Tiger hates water and holds a grudge against the Rat.
