I remember the day well, showing up to a donation center setup by the same community I normally volunteered for. I didn’t expect it. Didn’t want it.

A lot of friends, community members and neighbors recently had their worlds turned around by these devastating fires. If that’s you, my heart goes out to you. Having lived through the devastation of the Thomas fire I understand some of what you’re experiencing I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I will be opening up my availability to offer some temporary pro-bono telehealth crisis support sessions for anyone in need. Please reach out if I can support you.

Pain requires our attention. It calls to us, wanting to be seen, looked at and understood. Only then can we appropriately tend to the wound. Just like with a physical injury, when we dismiss our pain and ignore its signals it often leads to greater pain and injury. Yet, when we singularly focus on the pain it consumes us. Carefully engaging your pain helps you understand how to manage it, and eventually heal it.
