LFG!!!!!!! Let’s hear it for these two mega fast brothers and who just placed 1st 🥇 overall in the 5k and Half Marathon respectively at the 2025 Santa to the Sea race!! We are over the moon 🌕 for these two athletes and so grateful they trust us because phewwwwww these two are lightning ⚡️ fast. Congratulations Herrera brothers! 👏

💥 Big congratulations to our very own Dr. Mike Scarber, who just placed 3rd overall male at the Oregon Cascades 50 miler! 🏔️🥉 In heat, wildfire smoke and ash 🔥 💨 😓

One year ago, Mike was coming back from a devastating sacral fracture and couldn’t even run a single mile. Fast forward to today—he’s proof that with grit, consistency, the right rehab, and maybe some salty stubbornness 🤣 the comeback can be so sweet and so real.

As he always does, Mike poured himself into this journey:
🌅 Early mornings before the rest of the world wakes up (and definitely before Leigh)
🏋️‍♂️ Tireless strength + mobility training
🥗 Dialed-in nutrition
🏃‍♂️ And unwavering dedication to the sport

A huge thank-you to , who kept Mike fueled, supported and entertained all weekend—you were essential! 🙌 And while Mike has done much of his own rehab, he couldn’t have made this journey without the support of so many friends and professionals: , , .me, .nutrition, .o.romero, , , , , and of course, yours truly at Ascent Wellness.

first came on my radar when posted about them helping with his recovery from a sacral stress fracture. When I, unfortunately, then suffered from the same stress fracture I knew where to look for more information. In the past couple weeks I’ve been really excited to dive into their online course Advanced Concepts in Running Injuries. Great course so far and looking forward to putting it to use in the clinic. 💪🏼🏃‍♀️🏃

Hi, I’m Wil Sterner, a Hellerwork Structural Integrator. Hellerwork is a holistic body therapy that helps release tension and restore balance by working with fascia and bony structures to improve posture, alignment, and mobility. A branch of Rolfing, it uniquely combines movement re-education and somatic dialogue, addressing the emotional and physical aspects of healing.

I guide clients through a transformative 10-session series, targeting both superficial and deep myofascial layers. This work helps clients embody positive changes in their daily lives. For those seeking a less intensive approach, 3-session series are also available.

Originally from Southern California, I transitioned from a career in television to pursue a path of deeper fulfillment. My Hellerwork journey, inspired by my childhood friend Jesse Beinenfeld, has taught me the profound emotional and spiritual impact of this work. I specialize in helping clients release trapped energy and navigate complex trauma, including PTSD.

I’m excited to be part of Ascent Wellness and offer my services on Mondays, with weekend availability for overflow. When I’m not working, I love mountain biking, hiking, and exploring nature.

Sun has set on another great week with the family. Leigh and I are now both certified level 3 FST practitioners (Leigh has been for a few years). I’m excited to bring back new knowledge and even more passion about the benefits of this amazing technique.

Did you know that as recently as 1988, a woman needed the signature of her husband or male relative to co-sign to apply for a business loan? The Women’s Business Ownership Act was signed into law in 1988, removing barriers that prevented women from being fairly represented in business. First, huge congratulations to Dr. Mike Scarber for taking 3rd overall in the Born To Run 30 miler this weekend! Unfortunately, however, Mike sustained a significant injury during the race and will be off of work for an unknown amount of time. Thank you for your patience as Mike weaves through his busy schedule and reaches out to cancel or reschedule. We love you and appreciate your support during this challenging time for our family!!
