A big study looked at over 1,500 healthy pregnancies and found something surprising 👀
Most babies do NOT arrive exactly on their due date.
For first time moms:
💗 Half had their babies around 40 weeks + 5 days
💗 75% gave birth by 41 weeks + 2 days
For moms who’ve had babies before:
💗 Half gave birth around 40 weeks + 3 days
💗 75% by 41 weeks
Translation ✨
The classic 40 week due date is more of a guess than a deadline.
On average:
⏳ First time pregnancies last about 5 days longer
⏳ Experienced moms go about 3 days longer
So if baby’s taking their sweet time… totally normal 💕
Due dates are suggestions, not eviction notices 🫶

So sorry, friends ❄️ We’ll be closed Wednesday as we prioritize keeping our mamas, babies, and families safe. We know this can be inconvenient, and we truly appreciate your understanding. We can’t wait to see you all again soon, until then, stay safe, stay warm, and take good care of yourselves 🤍

Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe during this chilly weather ❄️
Our office will not be open on Tuesday, 01/27.
If you are in labor or have a time sensitive concern please call or text your midwife. Any non urgent questions can be sent to our email.
Should labor begin, your midwife will still meet you at your intended birth location.
And for anyone spending these cold days snuggled up with their partner… we will be hearing from you soon 🤰🏼😉❄️
