Help us wish a HUGE Happy Birthday to the woman who started it all—Brenna 🎉

Founder, visionary, therapy nerd, strength advocate, rural healthcare disruptor… and somehow still the one demo-ing Bulgarian split squats with an overly full schedule.

She didn’t just open a clinic, she’s raising the standard. From pelvic health to post-op rehab to heavy lifting for 90-year-olds, Brenna pushes our patients and our profession forward every single day.

Her brain never stops learning. Her barbell never stays light. And her vision for what healthcare can look like in rural communities is what built NextGen from the ground up.

The bar for therapy in our region continues to rise, and we’re just getting started. 💪🏼

Drop a birthday wish below! 🎂🎉

Everyone welcome Chelsie!!! For those that are new to yoga, you’re about to be spoiled. For anyone experienced, you’re in for a real treat! Chelsie will be offering yoga classes every other weekend starting this Saturday and Sunday, 2/28 & 3/1. Come check out a class!

About Chelsie:
Chelsie Lael Kennedy is a trauma-informed breath and movement coach specializing in performance, recovery, and nervous system regulation for real-life athletes — from strength athletes and active adults to parents, professionals, and high-stress performers.

With advanced training in yoga, somatic nervous system work, breath mechanics, and trauma-informed coaching, Chelsie helps clients improve mobility, recovery speed, focus, and body awareness without pulling them away from their training or performance goals.

Her sessions integrate diaphragmatic breathing, tension pattern release (jaw, neck, pelvic floor, and rib cage), alignment-based movement, and nervous system regulation strategies that support strength, endurance, injury prevention, and long-term sustainability.

Chelsie’s coaching style is highly observant, invitational, and adaptable, meeting clients where they are, whether they are returning from injury, managing high stress loads, or looking to optimize performance and recovery.

Her work is especially valuable for individuals who:
• Carry high physical or mental stress loads
• Struggle with chronic tension or breath restriction
• Want to improve recovery and training consistency
• Need body-first coaching that still supports performance

Chelsie works in both private and group settings and offers hybrid support through guided practice tools and digital coaching resources.

Big day for some incredible athletes 🐝🐾🏀

Good luck to the Niobrara Lady Cougars and the Bloomfield Lady Bees as they compete in their district finals today!

We’ve had the privilege of working alongside so many of these girls this past year. In the clinic, in the weight room, and on the sidelines. We’ve seen the behind-the-scenes work these athletes put in, and it shows 💪🏼

Hello, Brenna here!

I’m currently on my way home from Dallas after another continuing education weekend. My brain is tired, but I always leave these weekends feeling energized, inspired, and excited to bring new knowledge back to our patients.

Many discussions this weekend kept leading back to a quote I once heard: your zip code shouldn’t limit your care.

This belief is truly the backbone of what started NextGen. I didn’t enter this profession with the goal of becoming a business owner. I entered it because I care deeply about helping people move better, feel better, and live fuller lives. Over time, it became clear that if I wanted to offer the level of care I believed patients deserved, I had to help build it.

Healthcare, like everything else, continues to evolve. Research advances. Technology improves. Our understanding of the human body deepens. It’s our responsibility as providers to grow with it, not stay where things were 10, 20, or 30 years ago.

Every patient deserves kindness, respect, and to be heard. But you also deserve access to the most current, effective, and thoughtful treatments available. You shouldn’t have to travel to a major city to receive high-quality care. That level of care should exist within your own community.

I’m grateful for every opportunity to learn, to grow, and to bring that knowledge back home. Have a great week everyone!

How often do we screen for pelvic floor dysfunction?
Every day.
Not all day, every day… but every day.

If we’re not actively treating pelvic floor conditions, you better believe we’re screening for them especially in patients with:

• Low back pain
• Hip pathology
• Post-operative cases (THA, spine surgery, abdominal surgery)
• Recurrent pain that “isn’t responding”
• Urinary incontinence, urgency, or pelvic pain

This applies to both women and men though we do see higher prevalence in women.

The pelvic floor does not exist in isolation. It shares biomechanical and neuromuscular relationships with the hip, spine, diaphragm, and abdominal wall. We cannot talk about any of these areas without including the pelvic floor.

Research shows:
• Urinary incontinence is common after hip replacement
• Deconditioning + aging increase pelvic floor dysfunction risk
• Lumbopelvic dysfunction and pelvic floor issues often coexist

It is completely okay if pelvic floor treatment is not your niche.

It is not okay to ignore it.

If a patient is leaking, in pain, struggling with pressure, heaviness, or dysfunction — and we never ask — we are missing a piece of the puzzle.

Screen it.
Refer it.
Collaborate on it.

Your patients deserve comprehensive care.

And if you ever need a place to send them…we’re here. 😁

This is the power musculoskeletal ultrasound can bring. 💪🏼

Not every injury looks the same on the outside.
With real-time musculoskeletal ultrasound, we can see what’s actually happening under the surface: tendon injury, bursal inflammation, scar tissue, or fluid that wouldn’t be identified with movement testing alone.

That means:
• More precise rehab decisions
• Fewer guess-and-check exercises
• Reduced risk of prolonged symptoms or reinjury
• Faster, more confident return to activity
• Fewer unnecessary referrals and imaging costs

Without imaging, many of these injuries would be treated the same, even though they’re not the same. Musculoskeletal ultrasound gives us answers we can’t get from movement testing alone.

Better information → better outcomes.
