Just the Facts, Jack!
This week wanted us to give you a fact (or two) that propel our mission!

Sesdac supports about 75 adults living in Clay and Union counties, and serves about 120 families in southeast South Dakota through its Family Support 360 Programs.

Sesdac and the people supported play a big role in our community and meet the staffing needs for a variety of businesses in town. We also provide many volunteer opportunities for students and other community members who are interested in our services.

Home is where the heart is ❤

Vermillion is home to Sesdac, and of course, the University of South Dakota, where community spirit and Coyote pride shine bright! We love being part of this energetic college town, where USD students bring so much heart to what we do. Many of our amazing volunteers come from campus groups like Bridges and Special Olympics, who host fun activities and intramurals that keep us all connected and involved in our community. Go Yotes!

Great Places, new faces!

Sesdac is proud to highlight one of our incredible volunteers, Paige Norris! Paige is currently a sophomore at the University of South Dakota, majoring in Secondary English Education with hopes of becoming a school counselor.

Paige first learned about Sesdac through one of her education classes when several of our team members came to speak. From that moment, she knew she wanted to get involved, and we’re so glad she did!

Since joining, Paige has become an active member of Bridges and the Special Olympics Club at USD, and she participates in a variety of activities each week, including games, relationship classes, and crafts at the Sesdac center. She even joined us for a fun trip to Mazing Acres in Yankton!

Paige’s dedication and enthusiasm shine through in everything she does. She has built meaningful relationships with the people we support, and her positive energy makes every activity more special.

Paige shared that “watching people grow in their independence is what makes coming to Sesdac the highlight of my week.”

We are so grateful for Paige and all that she brings to Sesdac!

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us for the National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebration at Valiant Vineyards. Your presence and support made the event truly memorable.
