We are so blessed to have Liz Smith join us this year as our Finding Hope Board Treasurer.

Meet Liz:

Hi!, I'm Liz Smith! Here's a little about me so that you can get to know me a bit better. I'm married with six children, my husband and I have a yours, mine and ours family. Four boys, two girls. Between them we have fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandkiddos. My husband and I are both retired now, my husband is a former wildlife biologist and I'm a former teacher. My husband is also the CEO of the Vernal Creation Museum. I enjoy gardening and doing crafts.

After having been asked and after much prayer I have joined Finding Hope as the treasurer. I firmly believe that every child from the minute of conception has a special purpose, as well as every mother. Having been a young mother myself once upon a time, I remember the fear and uncertainty that comes when you're told you're pregnant. I want to let every new mom know that there is help and hope for her and her baby. God has a purpose for every child, and has given every Mom the strength they need to care for their little one. Finding Hope just reassures that hope and strength.

Meet our Board Officer of Marketing and Client Advocate, Courtney Hadlock:

If you follow our social media posts, that’s me! My journey with Finding Hope for the last 3 years has truly been an answered prayer. I've always been passionate about recognizing the intrinsic value of mothers and babies as envisioned by our Creator, and deeply committed to supporting mothers in what I believe is the most important, God-given role they will ever undertake. I believe that women and girls are uniquely made and deserve the utmost respect and care. I’ve seen up close the hardships and stresses that accompany unexpected pregnancies. I understand the importance of supporting mothers and babies, reminding them that there is a plan, a purpose, and hope. For years, I felt called to serve this mission in any capacity. I prayed, waited, and sought opportunities, hoping that God would pave a way for me to make a difference.

When Finding Hope came about, I was thrilled at the prospect of having a local initiative that supported mothers, babies, families, and built community. When presented with the opportunity, I jumped to help.

When I joined FHPRC, one of my initial responsibilities was to manage the social media pages and establish a distinct tone and voice for FH. Since then, I’ve grown into the role and expanded my responsibilities to include social media and content creation, assisting with advertising, fundraising, awareness, and event planning. I also enjoy filling in as a client advocate whenever possible.

Professionally, I am a middle school ELA teacher, hair stylist, and sometimes writer. In my personal time, I enjoy reading, baking desserts, and soaking up warm weather.

After serving three years at this organization, I remain consistently amazed at what God is doing in this community through the Finding Hope ministry.

Meet our Center Director, client advocate, and board member, Sharlee Pickering in her own words:

I’ve been a volunteer at Finding Hope for close to three years. I got involved in this ministry because I strongly believe that every life—both mother and child—has infinite, God-given worth and should be treated as such.

I love walking alongside other moms, helping them find the joy and beauty of motherhood while supporting them through its many challenges. One of my favorite parts of serving is seeing lives impacted through simple acts of love and truth.

Outside of Finding Hope, I’m a wife and mom of four. I enjoy serving in my church, crafting, and sewing, and I love camping and fishing!

It’s truly a blessing to be part of this ministry. I’m so grateful for everyone who supports the work God is doing through Finding Hope.
