Theresa “Tessa” Hallinan, a fifth grade student at Green Acres Elementary School, was named Connecticut’s 2026 Kid Governor at a school assembly today after being elected by her peers earlier this month.

Hallinan said she wants to "make sure every kid across Connecticut is included, respected and safe.”

She will serve as the state’s 11th kid governor.
