Failure is not such a bad thing.
If you work really hard at something and fail, maybe you can relax and just do a little bit of work on the beach. Maybe you can decide that is enough.
Maybe you can do some yoga. Maybe you can take naps. Maybe you can stop using an alarm clock and allow your body and spirit to rise naturally.
Maybe you can spend more time with your friends and family. Maybe you can read for pleasure. Maybe you can take up that hobby you've always wanted to get into, like planting succulents or painting or hula hooping.
I wonder why we started to think success is better than failure? I've been around successful people who were always stressed out. Each new level of achievement simply brought a new level of stress. And I've been around people with such happiness, an infectious kind of joy, who never did achieve our cultural markers of success. Maybe they didn't know they were supposed to?
I have tasted success. And I have tasted failure. Neither brought me peace and happiness. Peace and happiness have come of their own accord, when I decided that neither of those things mean anything at all.
