Can you imagine being a 55+-year-old adult man working at a retail store where your child is your superior whining to 20 year-old kids that said boss daughter “hurt your feelings and didn’t apologize” so you don’t speak to her even though you work at the same place? Not even an acknowledgment of her birthday when you were both working that day and it was announced over walkie talkies and teammates had celebrations for her. All the while your daughter has no idea what she did to hurt your feelings, but has been informed by multiple people she supervises that you’re spreading this narrative. It’s really hard to hurt the feelings of someone who doesn’t even interact with you or acknowledge you. Also, can you imagine living five minutes away from the cutest, coolest grandson ever and him not even knowing you exist because you’ve made no effort in his almost four years to know him? As soon as I decided to leave the marriage, I was immediately done with all feelings about how I was treated, but I don’t think I’ll ever forgive or not be enraged by his treatment of my kiddo (and her baby).

She’s 25, y’all! 25!!!! I swear it was last week I saw a photo of her at 8 and whispered, “I can be your mommy.” to the computer screen. I’ve legally been her mom for 15 years this month. She’s out with her friends and her 3-year-old is sleeping next to me in my bed right now. Being a grandma (or Gaga, as he named me) is by far my favorite role.

I got my hair cut for the first time since March (or maybe February) today! I stumbled upon by chance four years ago while visiting my besties and now I only want her to cut my hair. She understands my thick hair with wonky Irish curls underneath a straight top layer. The problem is, she’s two hours from me and only available twice a week. Hence, not getting a cut in 9 months! I went very short last time, which bought me some time. But the last two pics are from before the cut today. It still looked good! Anyway, Gen freshened up my and it is always great to see her. Ps. I got these Ray-ban sunnies at the goodwill bins.

In case you’ve missed hearing about Bestie Boo. He’s still turning the bed down for me at night and leaving coffee for me at the crack of dawn in the morning before he goes to work. I wish I could rent him out. I’d be a millionaire in a year!

It’s Bestie Boo day! 🎂🎉 Another year of having such an amazing friend. Silas asked me who I want when I’m sick the other day. I said, “Patrick.”

The first pic was taken just a few hours before the next two. I faceplanted on the sidewalk. He got me up, guided me back to his house, cleaned/iced/bandaged my wounds, medicated me, and tucked me into bed.

He’s learned about iron deficiency and blood disorders because he cares about me. He asks Chatgpt what I should eat to feel better.

He dug through Goodwill bins with me this year. We make the best charcuterie building team. I still get my best sleep at his house.

I think most of the world’s problems would be wiped out if everyone had a loving, caring, supportive, encouraging person like Patrick in their corner. Oh, and he’s brilliant, funny, and hot, too!

Happy birthday, Bestie Boo. I love you so much and I’m so glad you exist. I’m excited to see all the big moves and cool things you make happen in this next year around the sun. ❤️❤️❤️
