Each year yoga reminds us to pick a word that is designates what we want to change. And remember that the most powerful changes come from the inside. So what new quality do you want to develop in 2026? Resolve to make it become a habit. Habits that solidify become part of our character and then our life style. I am not just what I do, I am who I am.

So I have been contemplating my word over the holidays and finally settled in Saucha, Purification, the first of the Niyamas, the yoga lifestyle practices I have taken a vow to follow. Saucha begins at the physical and worldly levels--cleaning out the clutter, all that stuff that I no longer use and cherish. Then I can start working on my mind and emotions. My dreams tell me I have lots to get rid of.
