🌹 December Roses of the Magdalene 🌹
A Poem from the Pink Sanctuary

In the waning breath of winter,
when the earth rests in her bone-white silence,
a rose unfurls~
slow, deliberate,
as if answering a call older than time.

She blooms in December
the way a priestess rises in exile:
not for the world’s approval,
but for the promise she made
to the Light.

These winter roses are whispered scripture ~
petals carrying the quiet courage
of women who have remembered themselves.
They open against frost
the way Magdalene opened against empire,
softness daring the cold
to break her.

Here, in this sanctuary of pink wood and sacred soil,
the roses speak your name, beloved:
telling you what you have always known~
that endurance is holy,
beauty is sovereign,
and the Divine chooses unlikely seasons
to reveal Her strength.

And so they bloom
beneath a gray, chilly December sky,
echoing the ancient vow:

Even in the coldest hour,

🌸 The Pink Lady of Verona

Before the grief, the trauma, the sadness,
before the courtroom hearings,
and the losses that would reshape her world,
there was a woman in Verona
known simply as
The Pink Lady.

To the town, pink was her signature.
To her clients, pink was healing.
To her sanctuary, pink was home.
But to the deeper story,
pink was her frequency ~
the softness she carried naturally
into every life she touched.

Professionally, she was Sue Waldman ~
a therapist, healer, spiritual coach, teacher,
and a quiet heartbeat in her community.
And once ~ only once ~
the article referred to her as Suzanne Rose,
a brief nod to her full legal name:
Suzanne Rose Waldman.

She rode a pink bicycle
through streets that adored her.
She planted roses and lilacs
for her godmother, mother, father and best friends
She opened her home
as a sanctuary long before she knew
how much her pink light sanctuary would one day, she need.

She taught mindfulness
before the world even knew the word.
She gathered healers
before healing became a cultural trend.
She guided children and adults
with a tenderness born from
unspoken wounds still hidden
beneath layers of compassion and empathy.

Neighbors waved.
Children laughed outside her windows and played with her bunny.
Dogs trotted past her gate
as if sensing the safety within.

In those days, she believed
the world was filled with awe, enchantment, and miracles ~
and she still does.
Her ‘initiations’ did not take that from her;
they deepened it.
They forged her sovereignty,
strengthened her resilience,
and shaped the woman
who continues to reclaim everything sacred and true.

No one in that moment ~
not the photographer,
not the magazine,
not even her ~
could have imagined
the storms to come.

The grief.
The betrayal.
The battles.
The rising.

But the woman in that article ~
the woman riding her bicycle,
the woman tending to her garden,
the woman wrapped in pink ~
was not naïve.
She was foundational.
