This March, we honor the pioneers who shaped the future of eye care.

One of those trailblazers is Dr. Gertrude Stanton, the first woman licensed to practice optometry in the United States. In the early 1900s, she built a successful optical practice and helped open the door for generations of women in vision care.

Her leadership, independence, and dedication to patient care continue to inspire the profession today.

Due to Ripley County’s Orange Travel restriction Helton Eye Care will be closed Tuesday, December 2nd. If you have an appointment scheduled today a staff member will be reaching out to you shortly to get you rescheduled. Our Versailles office will reopen tomorrow at 8:00 am and will remain open tomorrow until 5:00pm.

Dr. Helton's son, Finn, got his first pair of glasses today! We think he looks so handsome!

This week we had to say “we’ll see you later” to our two college interns, Adelyn Weaver and Adeline Howerton. Adelyn will be heading back to Morehead State and Adeline to the University of Kentucky. These two helped us take great care of our patients, were never afraid of hard work or busy days, and always gave 💯.
