Today is National Morticians Day. We honor those who are in the profession today. It’s not a glamorous profession, but it is a needed profession that not everyone can do. It calls for dedication, compassion and commitment to those who need our help in a difficult time. We don’t always get it right but we care enough to give our families that we serve our all. We trust and believe that those who have chosen to embark on this journey do so because they have a firm commitment to help those they serve in their time of need. Louis Hall Jr., 71, departed this life on February 20, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1954. He will be missed by his family and friends and all that knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Greenhill Missionary Baptist Church in Frankfort, KY. Morgan Funeral Home.

Celebrating the life of Rev. Kenneth E. Paris

Tammie Ann Hurt, 54, passed Feb. 6, 2026. She is the mother of Je’Mario Hurt , D’Corshia Hurt,Dae’Oriontrelle Hurt,Tae’Sean Hurt and Ta’Mija Hurt . Her passing leaves a great void in the hearts of her family and friends.

Services will take place Friday, February 13, 2026 at Consolidated Baptist Church where Rev. Richard Gaines is the Pastor. Visitation is from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and the service will follow thereafter. Continued prayer for this family is requested. Morgan Funeral entrusted with services.

Rev. Kenneth Edward Paris, father of Kenya Paris,a retired AME minister and career educator, whose life of obedience to Christ, leadership to his parishioners, and teaching young scholars entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2026.

Rev. Paris was an ordained African Methodist Episcopal Minister as well as as an English teacher at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School. He began his pastoral charge at Quinn Chapel AME church in Chattanooga, TN. He would go on to Pastor Bethel AME Knoxville, TN, St. John AME Nashville, TN; St. Peter AME Clarksville, TN; St. John AME Frankfort, KY; Quinn Chapel AME, Lexington, KY ; St. Paul AME Lexington, Ky; St. Paul AME Louisville, KY; Emory Chapel AME, Elizabethtown, KY and before retirement, Shorter Chapel AME, Paris KY. He served as Presiding Elder Lexington District for a period of time before returning to pastoring a church.

A Celebration of Life for Rev. Paris will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Quinn Chapel AME Church. Visitation is from 10:00 am to 12.00 pm and the service will follow. Morgan Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

Tammy Newton
October 18, 1959 - February 3, 2026
Tammy Newton, known for her strong opinions and deep care for others, peacefully passed away on February 3, 2026. Born on October 18, 1959, she lived her life with grace, determination, and a warm smile that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her only child, David Heady, with whom she shared a special bond from the time he was born when she was
19. Also surviving Tammy is her loving daughter-in-law, Mayra Heady, whom she cherished as the daughter she never had.
Perhaps the brightest light in Tammy's life was her granddaughter, Alana Heady, who brought her immense joy and pride during the last 11 months of her life.
A memorial service to celebrate Tammy's life will be held on February 18, 2026. Visitation will start 5:00 PM with a memorial service following at 7:00PM at the Ahava Center for Spiritual Living. All who knew and loved Tammy are invited to attend and share their memories.
Remembered for her unconditional love and deeply caring nature, Tammy's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of many. She will be deeply missed, but her love and and example will forever guide those she left behind.
