Captured by Kara I specialize in child, senior, maternity, family and special event photography. Since I was little, I have always enjoyed taking photographs.

I give credit to my grandmother for this love I have developed. She always had a camera and was snapping pictures of everyone at every event. In high school I was a photographer for our yearbook staff and I enjoyed every minute of being behind the camera and learning so much about the camera, lighting and developing the black and white film. I put my love aside for quite a few years while I got married and had children. It wasn't until 2008 that I decided to start to pursue my love for photography once again; joining a local company photographing newborns in the hospital. I did this as a 2nd job, working some nights and most weekend. I enjoyed it immensely. I was just getting started with this job, and picking up some outside clients when my health took a turn for the worst and I had to hang up my dream once again. I went through some major ups and downs with my health and on July 18, 2012, I had a double lung transplant. I still have to be careful, and I am not cured by any means, but I am able to fully do what I love, and that is to photograph! Sadly, I cannot go back to the job I was working; I cannot work in the hospital setting, or a school setting. But I can work on my own, at my own pace, capturing YOUR life's most precious moments. My specialty is newborns and babies, but I also enjoy photographing children, families, seniors, couples, maternity and other special events. I will do on-location shoots, and I have a studio as well. Book me and you won't be disappointed! Wanted to throw an update out there for my clients…I’m doing my best to get sessions edited as I know some of you would like them in time for Christmas cards/Christmas. I got hit with a pretty nasty respiratory infection and have not been feeling well from it for about 2 weeks now. Went to Cleveland for 2 days earlier this week, with another visit the week of Thanksgiving (if not before). As always, I do appreciate your patience and kindness. ❤️

Whew! Matthew did SO good for his senior session! We hit the gym up this summer to get some shots of him with the sport that he loves the most...basketball! I loved how willing he was to do whatever it took to get some good shots.

Just wanted to hop on to say I am doing my very best with editing and delivering galleries. 🤍
I’m so very sorry that I seem to have slowed down with getting galleries out and delivered to my clients. I definitely did not take on as many sessions this year due to my health - and due to my health, my editing and delivering has also unfortunately been slower.

I have had some pretty amazing 2026 seniors. Sam was no exception. He plays football and is gearing up for bowling next. I had a lot of fun with Sam at the bowling alley...was secretly glad that the lanes had been stripped of the wax so that we could get some "better" shots on the lanes. ;)
