Some days, grief is loud.
Some days, it is quiet.
Both are real. Both are hard.

At Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, we want families in Versailles, Midway, and Woodford County to know that care and support do not end with the funeral service. Grief takes time, and no one should feel like they have to carry it by themselves.

Wherever you are in your journey, we are here with compassion, understanding, and a willingness to listen.

Easter has a way of feeling both peaceful and personal. For some, it is rooted in family, tradition, and the kind of moments that remind us what home really means. Whether gathered around the table, at church, or simply enjoying time together, this season invites us to slow down and appreciate the people who matter most.

At Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, we are grateful to serve the Woodford County community and the families who make it so special. This Easter, we wish you a day filled with peace, warmth, and meaningful time with loved ones. We are thankful to be part of a community where kindness, care, and tradition continue to mean so much.

Every family is different, and every life deserves to be honored in a way that feels personal.

For some families, a more casual and comfortable setting offers the right place to gather, reflect, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived. At Blackburn & Ward, we’re honored to serve our community by helping families create meaningful moments that are thoughtful, personal, and true to the life being remembered.

At Blackburn & Ward, being part of the community means more than serving families in difficult times—it also means showing up, building relationships, and supporting the next generation.

We were thankful for the opportunity to participate in the 8th Grade Career Fair at the Woodford County Middle School, where we had the chance to speak with students about funeral service, community care, and the many different ways people can make a difference in the lives of others.

We appreciate the invitation and are grateful to be a small part of events like this that help connect students with their community.

During Women’s History Month, we pause to honor the women who have served our country with courage, strength, and sacrifice. Women veterans have answered the call in times of war and peace, often carrying great responsibility with quiet determination and deep love for the people around them.

This month, we remember and thank the women in our community whose service helped protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. If you are a woman veteran, or if you have a woman veteran in your family, we also want you to know that there may be veterans death benefits available. We would be honored to help answer your questions and provide guidance. Feel free to reach out to us anytime. If you’d like, you can also share the name or branch of service of a woman veteran you love in the comments so we can honor her with you. 🇺🇸
