From Alabama to all 50 states… and now to the world stage 🌍

Our friend and community member, Daniel Chaplin, has already made history as the first person with Down syndrome to complete a half marathon in all 50 states. And on April 26, he’s taking that same determination to the London Marathon with Achilles International!

Daniel’s journey is about more than miles. It’s about showing what’s possible, changing perceptions, and reminding the world that individuals with Down syndrome belong in every space.

Meet DSA Fall Grant recipient, Lindley💙✨

“Receiving this grant has been a tremendous blessing for our family. It helped cover my daughter’s dance classes and competition fees at Impact Dance Arts, where she feels confident, included, and celebrated. Dance has given her a true sense of belonging, and watching her shine on stage is something we will never take for granted. Thank you for investing in her growth and opportunities like this.”

Each year, National Down Syndrome Society celebrates Down syndrome in a BIG way with the NDSS NYC Buddy Walk® and Times Square Video Presentation! 🗽

On September 12, 2026, we will gather in NYC as 500 individuals with Down syndrome will be featured in a video on two jumbotrons in Times Square! After the video, thousands will gather to celebrate at the NYC Buddy Walk in Central Park.
