We’re proud to see Citizens Medical Center highlighted by the Victoria Advocate following the recent Commissioners Court approval of funding for important community projects.

This support helps move forward long-planned improvements at CMC, including a new Intensive Care Unit and Infusion Therapy Center, which represent an investment in expanded access to critical care, enhanced infection prevention, and a more comfortable, patient-centered environment for our community.

With 14 new private ICU rooms and a modernized Infusion Therapy Center, these upgrades will strengthen our ability to meet the growing healthcare needs of Victoria County now and into the future.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, and early detection plays a critical role in treatment success. When treatment is needed, Citizens Medical Center can provide the standard of care, both external radiation and internal radiation using brachytherapy, right here in the Crossroads region.💙

With two linear accelerators, including the Varian Edge®, as well as an HDR brachytherapy machine, Citizens is the only specialized cancer center in the region to provide multiple modalities all in one facility. These advanced technologies allow for precise, efficient care, often in as little as 10–20 minutes per session.

Dr. Nicholas Metzger will now be adding breast surgery to the services he offers, joining Dr. Howell Finch, Dr. Hannah Starkey-Smith, and Dr. Anselm Tintinu in the fight against breast disease.
