As a pediatric endocrinologist, I’m often asked about fruit juice 🍎🧃

Here’s the truth: juice isn’t the same as fruit. One cup of juice can equal multiple servings of fruit, without the fiber that helps slow sugar absorption. That means a quick sugar spike—and often more sugar than kids should get in an entire day.

Are there exceptions? Of course—special occasions happen. But for everyday life, skip the juice. And if you do offer it, try watering it down to reduce the sugar load.

As we close out the last day of 2025, I just want to pause and say thank you. 😍

Thank you to the families who trusted me with their children’s health.
Thank you to the teens who showed up, asked hard questions, and kept going even when it wasn’t easy.
Thank you to the parents who advocated, learned, and partnered with me every step of the way.

This year was filled with growth — not just on charts, but in confidence, understanding, and resilience. I’m deeply grateful to be part of so many journeys involving growth, hormones, weight, thyroid health, and overall wellness.

As we head into 2026, my commitment remains the same:
✨ compassionate care
✨ evidence-based guidance
✨ meeting each child exactly where they are

Wishing you and your families a healthy, hopeful, and joyful New Year. 💛

Wondering if your child can still grow?

One of the key things we look at as pediatric endocrinologists is **growth plates**. If they’re still open, there’s usually more growth ahead. If they’re closed, height growth is mostly done.

A simple X-ray can tell us a lot. Trust your gut and ask if you’re unsure.

💬 Have you ever had your child’s growth checked?

🎄✨ Merry Christmas ✨🎄

Grateful today for my family, my patients, and the privilege of doing work that I truly love.

This season is a reminder to slow down, be present, and cherish the small moments that matter most. I hope your holiday is filled with peace, laughter, and time with the people you love. 💛

Wishing you a joyful and healthy Christmas

Protein worries are real for vegetarian kids — I live it too. As a pediatric endocrinologist and a mom of two vegetarians, I promise it’s possible to meet protein needs without meat. With the right combos and a little planning, kids can grow and thrive 🌱

👇 Comment your favorite high-protein vegetarian options to help other parents too!

Not all growth patterns are “just a phase.”
If your child’s growth feels off, trust your gut—early checks matter.

Have you ever been told to “wait and see”? 👇
Share this with a parent who needs to hear it.

When does puberty start and when should you be concerned?

If changes seem much earlier or later than expected, it’s worth getting checked. These differences can affect growth, development, and emotional well-being and sometimes point to a hormone imbalance.

A pediatric endocrinologist can help determine what’s normal for your child and when evaluation or monitoring is needed.

As a pediatric endocrinologist, I remind families that a higher BMI in childhood doesn’t always mean a child needs to *lose* weight. Kids are still growing—often they can “grow into” their weight as height catches up. The goal isn’t the scale, it’s health: nourishing foods, joyful movement, good sleep, and a positive relationship with their body. Healthy habits matter more than weight.

PCOS isn’t just about cycles; it’s a hormone imbalance that can impact long-term health if left unrecognized.

The good news? Early evaluation can help us understand what’s really going on and create a plan that supports healthy hormones, confidence, and overall well-being.

Has your teen’s symptoms ever made you wonder if something more might be going on?

Let’s talk in the comments. 👇

Added sugar hides in more foods than you’d expect — even the ones marketed as ‘healthy.’

As a pediatric endocrinologist, I always tell parents to flip the package over and read the *ingredients*, not just the front label.

Look out for words like cane sugar, fructose, corn syrup, agave, maltose, and anything ending in ‘-ose.’ These are all added sugars that can contribute to insulin resistance, inflammation, and poor energy levels in kids.

Small swaps make a big difference. What food label shocked you the most? Tell me in the comments!

As a pediatric endocrinologist, I always remind parents: hidden sugar is everywhere—even in foods we think are healthy. 🍯🥜

This peanut butter comparison says it all: one simple ingredient list… and one with added sugar your child doesn’t need.

🛒 Tip: When shopping, flip the jar over and read the ingredients. If sugar is sneaking into everyday staples, it may be adding up more than you realize.

Your child’s hormones, energy, and long-term health will thank you. 💛
