Babywearing in winter can be cozy and safe with a few simple tweaks ❄️🧣 Here’s a practical guide to staying warm while keeping baby safe:

1. Layer yourself first 🧥🔥

When baby is in a carrier, your body heat acts like a heater. Start with your own base layer + warm outer layer.

2. Choose thin + warm layers for baby 🧸🧦

Instead of a snowsuit, think breathable layers:
 • Base: long sleeve bodysuit or sleeper
 • Bottom: footless pants + socks/booties
 • Hat: should cover ears

3. Avoid bulky coats/snowsuits inside the carrier 🚫🧥

A snug carrier fit supports baby properly. Puffy layers can prevent a secure fit and can trap too much heat.

4. Coat strategy that actually works 🧥✅

 Options:
 • Wear your coat unzipped/open and babywear under it with a babywearing cover
 • Use a zip-in babywearing panel (super convenient)
 • Get a babywearing coat

5. Airway + positioning safety check 🌬️✅
 • Baby’s face visible at all times
 • Chin off chest
 • Nose and mouth uncovered
 • Baby close enough to kiss

Save this for your next cold-weather walk, and share with a new parent who’s trying to get out of the house in winter. 💛🧣

Laci got a book for Christmas called Silly Bo***es. A Love Story.
It sounds like one thing.
It is actually a sweet, funny story about two b**bie birds in a very Romeo and Juliet–style situation.

It made us laugh.
It made us pause.
And it reminded us that it’s okay to break things up with something light and human.

Sometimes education.
Sometimes support.
Sometimes just something that makes you smile.

Tell us in the comments if you’ve read it, have a favorite like it, or if you’re adding it to your list.

Getting sick while breastfeeding is hard.
It’s even harder when you’re not sure what’s safe to take.

The good news is that many common cold, flu, and pain medications are compatible with breastfeeding. In most cases, you can treat your symptoms and continue feeding your baby.

You don’t need to suffer through illness to protect your milk.
You just need the right information.

Watch to learn which medications are usually okay, which ones to use with caution, and when to reach out for help.

Save this for when you’re sick.
And message us if you want help checking a specific medication.
