Does massage therapy help with Parkinson’s?
Yes!!! Massage can calm the nervous system, reduce pain signals and ease muscle tension.
Being a massage therapist for 15 years, I’ve had the honor of working with so many people — from professional athletes to the elderly, from those recovering from injuries to those nearing the end of life. Each person has taught me something about resilience, healing, and the power of human connection.
Today, I worked with my client living with Parkinson’s. Last week was a good week — but today, he could barely walk, it took 2 of us to help him onto the table.
After a 90-minute massage focused on improving circulation, flexibility, and muscle tension, he stood up and walked — without his cane or walker — wearing the biggest smile on his face.
The progress was truly remarkable. Moments like this remind me why I love what I do and how powerful therapeutic touch can be in improving quality of life.
He’s now a believer — and I’ll be seeing him every week. 🙏🏼✨
